Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Will I have time to check with my What's For Dinner ladies and see if they are interested?

Sure thing ... I have to make sure they won't object to the button since it does have copyrighted material on it, but I don't want to request an order until I know how many to order. does that make sense? :confused3

It usually only takes 7-10 days to process so there's plenty of time. Just let me know. :goodvibes

I was wondering if anyone here had tried the online booking. I'll admit, I'm wary of it.

Which is hilarious, considering how internet prone I am for everything else.

But this is serious business. We're talking ADRs, people!!!

It's not like ordering a tank top. :lmao:

My date is coming up soon, I'll have to decide if I'm brave enough to try the new site or if I'm going to be old-fashioned.

I feel the same way ... I've played with the online system a little just to get familiar with it, but I think I'm probably going to call for mine. Our reservation is through DVC and I thought I read somewhere that the online system didn't recognize 90+10 on DVC reservations. Which would piss me off and probably lead to another shingles outbreak.

I'll post over there today but will wait until Monday to get responses since many of them don't post on weekends. I'm getting so excited about this trip!!!:cool1:

Normally, I'm all for anything that allows me to not have to talk on the phone (I don't know why, but I just hate talking on the phone......which makes my choice of career in customer service even more mysterious to me), but I think I'm going to call for mine as well. I booked my room through a TA, and I read that those reservations were also having issues with the online ADRs. When it comes to truly important things like food ressies, my motto is better safe than sorry!

Amen sistah! :thumbsup2

It actually worked pretty well. The only reservation I couldn't get online was for Citricos (but I already had it booked, so no biggie) - I'll have to check again to see if it was added. I've got to tell you, I was wary, too... but it went very smoothly and I had email confirmations of all of my ADRs almost instantaneously! :thumbsup2

What I did was make the ADR's online and then I called to confirm that they were OK - I didn't fully trust the new system and I wanted to make sure. Every ADR was correct. I really like being able to pull them up online and make changes if I need to without having to wait on hold forever or get a grumpy CM on the phone who can't find any availability for me. I suppose the verdict will be out for awhile on online ADRs...

One more thing I want to add is that I did find that there were many more available tables with the online reservations than I was given on the phone. Not sure why that is - maybe they held back a certain amount of tables for online and there is a certain amount for call in reservations... :confused3

I just test drove the online ressies too... I'm going to call. I can't stand this "add to cart" mess. Not worth messing it up, and I can get more info from a person. Unfortunately we still have a month before we can make our ressies.

Brenda~ Do you know if Bluezoo allows charging to WDW rooms? (just wondering, as we have a HUGE credit for our first leg of the trip, and it would be perfect for dinner)

Also... check out the siggie... :beach: My hubby's making it worth while for me not getting to WDW on my birthday :) Two trips to plan for!

(love the pin by the way! very nice design!!!)

All great things to know ... thanks for sharing Michelle!

Ang, I don't think Bluezoo accepts WDW room charges since they're not on the same computer system. Anyone else here know for sure?

And congrats on the St. Lucia trip - that's wonderful!

I LOVE the Homer logo! If only my next trip lined up with Food&Wine!

The new ADR site worked great for me! I'm not a fan of speaking on the phone unless absolutely necessary, so I'm a big fan of this new option. I booked Le Cellier with it (I think just because I could). That will probably be a reservation I change before I go.

Catherine did a great job, didn't she? I didn't expect so many other people to take a shine to it, but the more the merrier, right?

Wish you were going to be at WDW during F&W ... you'd really like it! :goodvibes

Glad to hear good things about the on-line system ... I want to use it but I also want it to work right, ya know? I've had too many instances of trying to use DCL's website for on-line bookings only to have it crash or lose something and if that happens with this system ... ugh ... :scared1:

I don't blame ya on your worries about crashes -- especially when dining is so important to you!

I know I'd love F&W. To soothe my disappointment about not being able to go again this year I'm currently quaffing a cocktail of my own creation. I made it with lemon barley water, club soda and a wee splash of Pimm's. It's not that different from how I usually have Pimm's (with ginger ale and/or limeade or lemonade), but it's refreshing and so good on a humid day. It's even tangentially Disney-related because the kids in Mary Poppins say their nanny must "never smell of barley water". I'll have to think of a silly Poppins-ish name for it. Maybe the Sister Sufragette?

I was at 90 days today and found that even though I logged in with my resort reservation (AP room only) I could only seek reservations for the one day 90 days out, not 90 plus 10. While I was waiting in the lengthy phone cue I played around with the system and although I think it will be great for tinkering with reservations (like looking for cancellations) it's not going to work for me for the first round until I can do the 90 plus 10.

Thanks for sharing your experience ... I have a feeling that this is the way I will end up utilizing it as well. For the initial 90+10 I'm just going to have to suck it up and call and hope for the best. And I hope the best for all of us, not just me and Jay, because I know how much those ADRs mean to my hungry, thirsty friendies. :grouphug:

Thanks to all for the feedback on the online ADRS. Unless they get the 90+10 issue fixed for those who booked through TA's, I think I will have to call for my initial ADRs, but then play with them online once I get to 90 days. I've still got a little over a month left before my 90 days, so hopefully, they will get all the bugs out of the system by then.

Sounds very cool. I'll have to live vicariously through your review! ;)

If I were to place an order for buttons with the Homer logo is there anyone here besides me who would want one? I found a place where I can do a custom rather than bulk order ...

Any takers?

Count us in for four buttons. :thumbsup2

We're home! I found out on our whirlwind vacay that we'll be moving to Texas, so I am pretty pissed off.

What did I miss?pirate:

Sorry your being sent to Texas. Hopefully it will be better than your expecting.

does the reason they serve boring beer have anything to do with exclusivity / advertising agreements? Like how they serve coca-cola products but not pepsi products? Just curious.

We're having a bunch of loud and wicked storms roll through and I cant sleep so I thought I'd pop in here and see what's what.

Why? Is Nescafe making beer?

Oh and Bendy... the new ADR system works really good at 2:30 in the morning...

Well, I emailed the Disney Institute for their October dates - seeing if I can really pass this thing off as a true "Business Trip"... they told me to call back in a couple of weeks when their new fiscal year begins...

so for now... I'm still listed as "Sometime in October..." :flower3:

yep, seen that - not going near it. Unless my friends want to but they haven't said anything yet.

I think I might want one :lmao:

I've used the online reservations to book California Grill on 8/31 for just me and Ohana on 9/1 for three people (although right now it's actually just me - bet I can get some friends to go though)

Brenda~ Do you know if Bluezoo allows charging to WDW rooms? (just wondering, as we have a HUGE credit for our first leg of the trip, and it would be perfect for dinner)

No they don't. They will charge to your room only if you are staying at the Swolphin.

I was going to order you one whether you wanted it or not.

Did it work smoothly for you? No glitches or chronic slow-thought issues like with DCL?

No they don't. They will charge to your room only if you are staying at the Swolphin.

That's what I thought but I wasn't entirely sure. Thanks for clearing that up.
