Out of curiosity... how does one "stumble" on these pairings??

We have a local magazine / website : Sauce Magazine that keeps track of a lot of these things and that's how I've found a lot of them lately. Also, I've started signing up for event emails from local restaurants and brewpubs that we like and they send me advance notice of tasting events that they're planning.

Now the problem is almost that there are too many to choose from! :lmao:

Feast or famine!

Also, I don't think we know yet that snack credits will be usable at F&W kiosks. In fact, no one was certain the past two years until the symbol showed up on the signage, right?

I spoke to Disney reservations 3 days ago (was purchasing an additional night)and was told that Snack Credits will be usable at F&W kiosks.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful wishes and I will post pics from Napa and from the 1st day of the Disneyland Festival Friday!:flower3:

Don't forget your Disney recipe collecting friends here :) Any new ones that you can pick up, we would love to have posted on the Disney Recipe Exchange
Hello my foodie friends,

Hope you're all having a fun Sunday. Brenda- I can't wait to hear what you and Jay think of the Chateau Yaquem. It sure looks pretty!

I was just browsing the D23 website and came across some recipes from California Grill:

Nori Wrapped Ahi Tuna with Stir Fry Vegetable Strudel
Chocolate Lava Cake :cloud9:
Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli
Walt's Own Chili (not from California Grill)

My Disney recipe collection encompasses most of the cookbooks (have been waiting for months to get Delicious Disney Desserts from Amazon.ca) plus an 845 page Word Document. Yes, I'm a serious collector! I actually had all those recipes, but if anyone manages to get new ones that we don't have posted on the Disney Recipe Exchange, we're always very grateful to get them. There is also a very long list of requests and the restaurants are pretty good about sharing recipes if you go there in person.

Speaking of good deals, I just stumbled across this and can't believe the price...

Wow, the best prices are always in the Southern USA I find,
which is one reason I love vacationing there.

Our bottle of Chateau Yaquem showed up this weekend ... isn't it pretty?

Yeah, for this amount of $$$ you'd better gimme a gift bag!

It's been tucked into a dark corner of our pantry until we get closer to our anniversary, at which time we shall chill it and pop the top on May 29th. Can't wait to try it and see if it really lives up to the hype ... I have to say, everything I've read about it (even from the random restaurant here in Stinktown that offers it) states that it is the best dessert wine in the world.
I hope we haven't been set up for disappointment! :rotfl2:[/QUOSo ]]]]]]]

So i just have to ask - what are you serving with the Loverly wine?]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]

I'm thinking bread pudding souffle with whiskey cream sauce (recipe courtesy of Commander's Palace).

Dinner looked amazing but why did they have to ruin the lamb with all those shrooms

Wow, fancy schmancy wine! I can't wait to hear what its like. I've never tried it because I don't care for sweet dessert wines but I'm open after hearing from someone I know!

Our local newspaper publishes an annual dining guide and I saw an ad for this place and checked out their website.:goodvibes

I will have to be a little more diligent, I guess. I know our local ale house is doing a beer dinner this week but the tickets are $75 on a weeknight when I teach until 9:00. One of the wine shops is pairing up with a local Italian restaurant to do a dinner, but the menu does not appeal to me at all. And it is $150!

That is good news on two fronts, then! #1 - they can be used. #2 - there will be kiosks! ;)

When do y'all leave?

We go Wednesday for the Day to Napa - that is my actual Birthday. Jason works a lot in SF so we have Southwest tixs and can go!
Then Disneyland we will drive up Friday for the day! If anyone wants anything to be looked for besides recipes let me know!

Hey, all! Just got back this afternoon from the scrappers weekend. I don't know that I'll do that again--I have never been so tired in my life! Food was very eh, and had the worst margarita ever last night. Blek.

Brenda, your dinner looked great (even those very green peas :rotfl2:) and sounded like a nice evening out for you and Jason. That was a great pic of Grimmie smiling on Easter--she must not have realized she was in the doghouse with you yet!

Chelsi, congrats on the big 4-0 this week and have a great time on your trips! Yes, we want all the details and lots of pictures.

We finally found something to do nearby--look it's a beer tasting! And bbq!

Welcome home Whomom!!!

We'd love to do a beer tasting ... hoping that there will be a beer dinner in Stinktown sometime this summer. Otherwise I guess we can make up our own.

Looks like I'm out until Wednesday night ... you guys all take care. :grouphug:
