24th Oct, Day 3, Monday
Awoke at 6.30am wide awake. We do start getting into a better sleeping pattern tomorrow. We went to the A La Carte restaurant for breakfast. Again it was usual American fare but ordered off the menu and very nice. Good quality. Omlettes, hash browns, frensch toast, pancakes, eggs benedict, sausage, bacon and of course maple syrup.
We decide to go for a further explore of the ship. We cannot believe how big it is. It is really beautiful as well and very very clean. We find a lovely room to go and play cards. JOhn nad I have a cocktail and the girls have stawberry smoothies. The drinks are gorgeous, and pay the price for this when our bill comes at the end. All the food is inclusive, including juice and tea/coffe at eating times but other than that all drinks have to be paid for.
At 11 we went to the caribbean lounge which is where all the entertainment takes place. There is a talk on the ports of call that we are going to. This is really important for us as the Islands we are going to were not the ones we had planned to go to. All our excursions to Jamiaca and Grand Cayman I had pre-booked in the UK so we needed to see where we were going to go.
We then go for lunch on the lido deck again. John had a hotdog ad we have pizza. The food is available 24/7. Sounds good but believe me by the time the cruise had finised we were really tired of food. There was also another lttle food bar that hosted food from a different country each day. Today it was Indian. Not bad.
We go back to the cabin for a read and then go back to the Caribbean lounge to listen to Rick & Hector the ships super shoppers. They tell you all about the shoppiing opportunities in the ports, very lighthearted and informative. Hector is a 3x latin dance champion and very camp but also very entertaining. He even got Georgia up on stage to be given a T.shirt. They sell heavily discounted diamonds etc so I am looking forward to that. We go back to the cabin and buy a movie for the girls to watch. "Herbie Fully Loaded". I sit on the balcony for a coupe of hours to read. I am so glad we upgraded to a balcony it was fabulous.
Tonight is our first formal night so we all get our glad rags on and head for the dining room. John has shrimp cocktail to start and I have tropical fruit cocktail. We then both have filet mignon and the girls have pizza. we all decline sweet as we are all full and tired.
Tomorrow evening we arrive in San Juan at 5pm.
