Bella had her cruciate ligament surgery!

As some of you may recall, my chocolate lab Bella (10 Months) ruptured her cruciate ligament. She had the surgery on Wednesday and came home yesterday. She is resting comfortably with the help of pain meds. The vet said she tolerated everything well.

The recovery is about 10-12 weeks and we are keeping her as quite as possible..

Awwww. Good to hear it went well, Rosemary. And hope she stays comfortable post surgery here with the meds. Tough seeing our puppies not well or not feeling good. Glad she is okay. Good news.

I'm so happy to hear she's on the road to recovery. I know you have a lot of work ahead of you and it will be some time before Bella is back to her old self...but one day, you'll look at her and think "I can't believe she ever had surgery, she's the same Bella she was before she got hurt". Then all your hard work will be well worth it!!

I can't imagine trying to keep a 10 month old chocolate lab quiet for 10 to 12 weeks! Good Luck to Bella and you!

Boy is this difficult!!! I just tried to take her out to relieve herself and she got out of the sling!! She hates the plastic collar on her neck and has chewed it and was trying so desparately to get it off she twisted and got out of the sling!!

I panicked!! I was able to get to her and restrain her slightly and basically had to carry her in the house! She is now safe in her cage and I am on my way to the pet store to find a soft cervical type collar for her............

It is going to be a loooooooooooong 10 weeks!!!
