Our Cel phones are through Bell Mobility. When we are in Florida I have made.received calls and texted ! You just have to pay whatever your roaming charges are! But the phones do work!
Just back--a few hours ago. We have Bell Mobility and always add the 'Florida call home or something plan'??? $40 a month-2 month min...100 free minutes per month. The roaming charges can be huge without it!!!!
This time I also added free texting for $10 more...
I am at WDW right now with my Bell cell phone and I am using the American calling plan which is 100 minutes for $20.00 and the texting plan which allows me to send up 100 text messages without being charged extra for them.
The only time we ever had a problem with our cell phones with Bell was this past August when we could not make calls ot send text messages, however when we called Bell tech support they said it was a problem with all cell phones in Florida and we were not the 1st ones to call about it. Although that was just a fluke and nothing like that ever happened before.
Hmm maybe we paid $20 per month? Can't recall as I put it on last month (Nov) for a Vegas trip and this month it covered 3 of us in Florida and another daughter in NYC (we are all on a Bell family plan). Great plan!
Just called Bell Mobility.....here's what they offered me (in Ontario):
Connect USA Plan - 100 roaming & long-distance minutes. Calls can originate in the USA or be received from the USA. $40 per month, one month minimum. Without the plan, costs for us would be $1.74 per minute, so 100 minutes would otherwise total $174 .
We were going to get a PC calling card, but this might just be more convenient. Thanks for getting me thinking about it! Didn't realize that this was an option until I read the posts.
If you haven't already, make sure you check out the Sticky: Cell phone use at WDW at the top of this board. I remember the first time I used my cell at WDW, my phone bill was humongous so I now use the Talk US/Florida plans when I go!
