I sent the following to Disney Guest Communications via email - but wanted to post here as well....

Dear Disney,
I'm sorry this is over a month after the fact but I wanted to send it in anyway. In early May my family (wife, daughter (4 years old), son (2 years old)) and I stayed for a week at the Saratoga Springs Resort followed by a week at Vero. We are DVC owners at both resorts.
When checking out of Saratoga Springs we pulled all of our luggage out of the two bedrooms and into the foyer to ensure we didn't forget anything. We loaded up the car and headed to Vero.
Later that evening at Vero beach as we were preparing to put the kids to bed, we couldn't find our daughters stuffed dog anywhere. She's had this dog since she was six months old. It's her security blanket and she was in tears. We asked her if she knew where it was and she said she put it on the bed in her other "Disney house". Many tears later she fell asleep. I called that night and left a message for lost and found.
The next day I hadn't heard anything and had some difficulty getting thru the voice mail system to speak with someone, but a helpful operator worked to find me someone in the lost and found area. A gentleman came on the line and took all of our information down and said he'd relay it to the manager of the lost and found for Saratoga Springs and Old Key West.
The next day she called us to let us know she'd looked thru everything and hadn't seen the stuffed dog. She would continue to look however - obviously we expected things to end there. Our daughter was devastated.
BUT, later that day she called back to say that the housekeeping staff had found the stuffed dog in a plastic bag with a few clothes. Apparently, my daughter had taken the dog and put it in with some clothes and left it by her "Disney bed".
Later that week, we drove thru Orlando and picked up her stuffed dog.
There are few things as moving as seeing my daughter tear up and hug that little dog as hard and as long as she did for the 12 hour drive home. For the next few weeks she wouldn't let the dog out of her sight.
She still sleeps every night with it and is so happy it "came home from Disney".
Thank you so much for going beyond a quick look and helping find my daughters stuffed dog. It just makes us so much more happy with our DVC purchase and decisions to spend so much vacation time at Disney World.
Thank you!
