Being Random

I know this only applies to people living near the area of either WDW or DL but how many of u go to disneyland randomly. Like today as soon as i get done with this thread im gunna get into my car and go to disneyland. Im working crowd control tonight so ill spend the day in the park. for all you AP's out there is it planned or is it random

I'm not even local and we'll just randomly decide to go. Some trips we plan far in advance, but many are planned with just a day or two notice. That's the nice thing about having an AP and being within reasonable (7ish hours) driving distance.

Most of our trips are unplanned. A lot of time we will go before Howard has to work, so we'll just mess around in the afternoon, then he'll leave and clock in, and we'll spend a couple more hours there, and generally stop by and say Hi on our way home. When we only had 1 car and our daughter was small my daughter and I would stay in DL/DCA while he worked. So we'd be wandering around most weekends. It was tough the nights he worked till 2 am, but since she just slept in the stroller it wasn't bad.

Unfortunately since they've got him working so much it's hard to do with all these 8 hour or less turn arounds, he's so sleep deprived walking around DL is not high on his list at the moment.

I think I go more often randomly than planned. We only go planned when we have guests, or for DIS meets.

A couple of weekends ago, my dd & I went to DL on a Friday night just for the heck of it. We ended up having dinner at the Plaza Inn right when the fireworks started, and so we had dinner & a show. It was great!

We live in So. O.C. so we go randomly A LOT!! If we just happen to be in the neighborhood, and we have time, we go. Sometimes we'll just be home with nothing going on, so we hop in the car and go. The only time we actually "plan" to go is when something special is going on or when friends/ family are coming to visit.

We Have AP's and we live in AZ so we sorta set out a date and just go ... w/ or w/o my dad! lol! I wish i lived in Anaheim tho!

Well we plan our vacation around using our pass..

But I have a friend who does her daily 'walk' at DL and DCA. She starts at one park and walks the peremeniter after getting a FP for Buzz and then goes and does the other park and then goes home. She and her husband love it!

Most of the time it's planned, but I plan to go just about every weekend. Occasionally, I'll have a spur of the moment weekday trip.

I'm a randomly planned DLR person Usually there on Sunday's for pins, and casually there on weekdays during lunch breaks or what not.

I wish we could go at random. We live in Seattle. You can't really just wake up in the morning and take off. Well, you could, but not on our budget! The closest thing to last might we can pull off is 6 weeks notice. If we lived close we would be there all the time. We would be there today for sure. We have nothing to do this weekend and the kids are driving me crazy.

We mostly wake up on a given Sunday and say "Lets go to DL" so we head off. Now with school almost out it will be hopefully more often but still random. I know my sister will be in town late June so we have actually planned to be there a few days with her but other than that we are jsut playing it by ear. For us it is a little over a one hour drive. I love that we can go for a few hours and then come home. I wish I was closer like several of you. A nice daily walk in the park would be wonderful excercise......

When we live in OC my mom would occasionally say lets go to Disneyland and we did. This was before AP's. But more often then not it was planned for my Birthday. I would go every year instead of a big Birthday party.

I live about an hour and a half away from Disneyland and have a Premium pass. Disneyland is my stress reliever. So whenever I really need a day off from work and am able to take 1 or 2 vacation days, I drive down to DL and just relax and shop around all the stores and try to trade pins with the CM's. Sometimes after work, I'll just feel like driving down to the parks or to Downtown Disney, just because and I always have a great time.

Ive done most of my DL trips randomly. We are just down the street so it doesnt' take much planning. Its usually after work though or just on the fly one evening. But if we are wanting to do a whole day or have someone come with us, then we plan ahead for it. The last minute trips are great though.
