Being Human (SyFy/BBCA)

I'm just finding the acting better on the BBC and I'm much more "attached" to the characters.

If I don't have BBC America is there somewhere I can see the British version? Like is there a British hulu type website?...

For the werewolves I'm partial to Josh, I think its the humor.
I like Josh too. Mainly because he is in 2 of my favorite movies...Detroit Rock City and Fanboys.:3dglasses

I got hooked on the BBC series last year. I'm watching the SyFy version but it just pales in comparison to BBC's.

Last night I watched the season premiere on BBC. I thought maybe I didn't care for Syfy's version because it copies much from BBC. After last night though, it's Syfy's actors that are boring and don't bring the passion, trust, and comedy like BBC's actors do to their scenes.
I have to agree. The BBC version had me hooked from the first episode. For me, it is along the lines of Buffy or Angel which I loved, loved, loved. Lots of blood and gore but very humorous. I'll keep watching the SyFy version though and hope I can get more into it.

I recorded all the episodes that were shown during the marathon and watched the pilot. I have to say that my initial reaction is that I agree with the general consensus that the BBC version is better. I think the actress that plays the British Annie has more depth.

Question, older episodes were not shown in order and I would like to watch them in the proper order. IMDB does not have the past episodes listed by name. Are they listed on the BBC site by any chance?

Not sure but the Wiki has it of course.

I was going to suggest wikipedia too. If I recall correctly, originally they ran them out of order too. It doesn't mess with any timelines or anything though.

I'm tolerating the american version of being human.. not a huge fan but i guess I'll deal... but the British version I LOVE it! the British humor is a million times better than the american version..

has any one watched the mini web series Becoming Human? I found it on youtube because you cant stream it off the bbc website

I read about it but haven't watched it yet. When I get a chance I'll check out youtube. Thanks!

Unfortunately, Wiki has the same info IMDB has. They just call it Epsiode 1, 2, etc. Except for season 3. All the episodes I DVRd have real titles, does that mean they are all from season 3?

That's good to know. I wasn't sure how serialized it was. But I'm glad I have the order now to which to refer.

They aired the first episode of Season 3 on Sat, I think it was at 9pm. The marathon began at 6am last Saturday. If you recorded them from that time forward, they aired them in the correct order. And there would be 15 episodes total, including the Season 3 premiere. I had to use the wiki episode list and match them up to the episode descriptions I have on my DVR. It helped that I had already seen all of Season 1. HTH!

I'm 4 episodes ahead of the rest of America... since they didn't tell us when they would start airing series 3 here in america I started dling them...

I see what you are saying. I can't find a total listing of the names of the episodes.:confused3

I love the US version. <3 I haven't seen the UK one yet. But I'm a regular at watching this show as well as my husband. :)

Kycha - thanks for that. Okay, so I only have to worry about the 8 episodes I recorded on Friday. I can live with that if I'm slightly out of order :thumbsup2

Looooove the BBC version. The SyFy one I could not watch 5min of. The original characters have such life due to the actors playing them! The SyFy one was just so dry and boring to me.

I was making myself watch the syfy version but after last nights ep. with Rebecca being seen on camera.. im sorry but you cant change vamp folklore.. (and the twilight sparkly vamps dont count as real vamps)

i understand that they want to make it its own show but if thats the case then why name it the same thing they should have made an original series or as original as tv shows get these days

I had watched the BBC version on occasion, then I saw where they were airing a series on SyFy so I dvr'd it. Well..........I like the show fine. I am a little disappointed because much of the storyline feels "ripped off" from the BBC. I know, I know - it's the same show - but it just feels like they took the BBC script, handed it to SyFy actors, and said "Read this, but with an American accent."

I genuinely *like* the Sally character but I don't really *get* her, you know. First, what the heck is with that horrid outfit? I get the "shades of grey" thing since she's a ghost but......it's just so tacky. Second, why (WHY?!) was she so hard on the guy ghost's character in the last episode? Does his "problem" really matter....they are DEAD, she has eternity. Him taking what he says is "five minutes out of his day" shouldn't really be an issue. And, again, she's DEAD so it kind of miffed me that she got so irked that he had an issue of his own (I mean, he didn't comment on her TACKY outfit ;)) I just didn't get writing him in to the show and then giving him an out in the first episode. I'll be interested to see what they do with him next week. I will say they've picked beautiful girls for both the BBC and the SyFy ghost roles. I think Sally is prettier, though.

I can't decide who I like more. I love dark, tortured souls and Aiden certainly fits that description. Plus, I've always been a huge vampire fan. OTOH, I also like the underdog, sarcastic humor, and small statured guys so I really like Josh, too. Hmmmmm. It's Twilight all over again (except I don't think Robert Pattinson is hot, at all, so I think they missed the boat on the vamp character LOL)

Does Nora's hair bother anyone else? I mean, she's so cute and then she's got this thin, scraggly, bleached out mop on her head.
