We just got back from an 8 day trip. We did a couple of new things this time. My DH and DD7 went on the Behind the Seeds Tour through Living with the Land. It was an hour long and cost $12/$10. It's geared for kids ages 5 - 10. They loved it. They got some samples of different plants they were able to bring home.

While they did that my DD5 did Jr. Chef. It's a small area where they bake cookies with kids. It's off on the side between the line for Living with the Land and the food court. She thought it was the best. Her favorite thing was the "magic oven".

I had never seen anything about these before. The girls loved them and it was a nice break from all the running around.

I saw both on our last trip, but we did not take advantage of either. I am thinking about the "behind the Seeds" tour for our upcoming trip at the end of this month. Did you have to book it ahead of time, or could you arrange for it a day ahead?
Do you ahppen to remember the times for the Jr Chef? My DS3 loves to cook with me and would really enjoy that.

You can book Behind the Seeds Tour in advance or on the day of. Most people I belive book it on the day of. Tours run from 9:45-4:30 pm and leave every 45 minutes. It is $12 per adult and $10 for children 3-9. If you have AAA, AP, or Disney Visa there is a 15% discount. The tour desk is on the lower level of the land by Soarin.

If you squint really hard, you will be able to see the times on the board for the cooking class.....Lots of fun.

I cant read that sign, but I think the times we have done it its always been on the half hour with the first one at 12:30 and the last at 4:30.
Actually, now thinking of that, it does look like those could be the times posted, judging by the size of the times. ;)

We walked up for the Behind the Seeds tour on the day of. It was DH, DD, a young boy and his grandma. Not sure how many they will take on one tour but DH said it was nice having a smaller group.

Jr Chef was 12:30 - 4:30 on the half hour. They only take a certain amount and it's first come first serve. There is no sign up.

Jr Chef lasted about 1/2 hour. Behind the Seeds lasted about 1 1/2 hr with the sign up time and waiting for everyone to go. They had to check in at 3:30 and they got done around 5. We had talked to them earlier but didn't sign up ahead of time. Just walked up day of.

My girls 5 and 8 did the jr chef and loved it. They felt like they were on stage. They made it very fun for them. They also liked the magic oven and the Chef hats with their name on them.

Can you tell me a little bit more about the "Behind the Seeds" tour? Is that a regular thing? I'm going in May and I think my DH and DD (age 6) would love it DS can do the Jr. Chef. When you sign up for the Chef program can you sign up for any of the times when you get there Is it hard to get into?

Thanks for the information!
