Behind the Seeds and Caring for Giants

Hey, DISers! Wondering about people's experiences with either or both of these tours. I'm seriously considering them for the 2019 trip since they're reasonably priced and look interesting.

And a question...is it possible to book these tours on the day of? Or is it recommended to book in advance? I'm thinking specifically of Caring for Giants, as weather could interfere with that one.

Both are very interesting tours. I'd recommend either without hesitation
We've done Giants several times.
We booked ours in advance but they do often have room day of
For Seeds you'll want to go by early or book for next day. Anytime we've been around the desk mid day the sign indicates they are full

just booked Caring For Giants last Wednesday about a half hour before the tour. It was great for the money. The backstage part was cool and baby Stella was balancing a stick on her head. There is plenty of time for questions, so think of anything you want to know.

I enjoyed Caring for Giants- really felt special to watch the elephants close up for an extended period, removed from the chaos of the parks. The CMs were great. When we arrived at the observation area, the guide said something along the lines of "I am going to talk to you about our elephants, but don't feel like you hAve to look at me. I know you are here to watch the elephants."

The seeds tour was interesting and inexpensive. We booked ours day-of without a problem. It lasts about an hour and we had fun (especially enjoyed releasing lady bugs).

So nice to hear about these experiences! We did a tour eons ago.. and seem to not think about all the extras available.

I decided to add some fun to our upcoming visit and snagged both horseback riding one morning and the late nite, nite safari at Kidani ( didn’t take the ( ridiculous prices) Jambo room this visit as the pool and outdoor bar closed,, couldn’t justify the cost, lol.. so we ll get our animal fix at AK AND at Kidani safari instead.
Very much looking forward to sharing this all with my son who is able to fly in for the rather last minute xtra long Holiday weekend! WOoHoO!
He loves animals and will be happy to be on a horse again too. true win-win surprise/s !
His brain could use the break lol!
