I'm a newbie to DLR so I'm sure this will be the first of many questions! We are planning our first trip to DL for July!! On our last trip to WDW my DH did the Keys to Kingdom tour which he loved. The kids and I did the Family Magic tour. Are there any equivalent behind the scenes tours at DLR?

No. Disneyland does not offer any 'behind the scenes' tours. The closest you may come is the Calif Adv. Segway tour, which lets you ride Segways in the park before CA Adventure opens.

I think there may be a tour that takes you up to Walt's apt. over the firehouse, and to the lobby of Club 33, but I'm not sure which tour that is, and as far as I know that is as 'behind the scenes' as they get.

Actually, there is a way to get a backstage tour. The owners of this site did this last year and I missed it by days. They are doing it again.

I didn't read through it all and I don't know if you can sign up for just the tour or if you have to do the entire package. Last year you could do just the tour.

But there is no tour offered to the general public. This is special. :)

This is something that you had to book the package to do, which was very expensive (oh how I wish we could have done it!). :goodvibes The tour that was done last year was in June and we were lucky enough to be able to do that one. I just added my report in my signature if anyone is interested in reading about it.

I just about fell to floor when I found out that this was happening just a few days before we were supposed to arrive last year! There was no way to change our plans to get there earlier. I guess now it is all done through Adventures by Disney so you have to buy the entire "adventure". :)

Yes, I obsessively watched the site until the booking engine was posted! I thought they were going to be doing more of those tours - the Adventures by Disney tour was posted right around the time the tour we did was posted (the original post date on that thread was May 2009), but maybe you are right - maybe those are going to be the only ones?
