Has anyone taken the Behind the Scenes Tour of the WDW railroad? My dad is a train buff and we thought it would be fun to take him on the tour but at 84 years old, we're not too sure if it's the right thing for him. He's very active and mobile but if it is three hours of standing and walking, that might be a bit much. We're going in October so we aren't concerned about heat, just him being on his feet for that long. Is the tour broken up with periods of sitting during presentations or such? Thanks.

The tour was a lot of fun. There was not a lot of walking. Most of the time is spent riding on the train.

I took the tour and I think your dad will LOVE it. I sure he can handle the walking and standing because the tour is fairly casual and the conductors are very accommodating. I'm sure they can provide a sitting spot for your Dad if and when needed. Have a great time!

Best wishes,
Dave

Mom was 84 when we took her. She has had a knee replacement, but getting up and down wasn't easy, but it was doable and she was glad to have done it. DH will be taking it again, in October and he's taking my DUnc with him, he's 83.

Bobbi :)

Well, it sounds like we'll be in great company. Thanks for your replies. Backstage, here we come. :cool1:
