Deciding today whether this would be worth doing next year.

For those who have done it, just wondered whether it spoils things or whether it is really interesting and something great to do:thumbsup2

We did it last month after waiting years for Matt to be old enough, he has been wanting to do it since he was about 12.
We know a lot of Disney trivia and we have a friend in security at MK so knew quite a lot of what we were told, even so it was well worth doing. You don't get to see too much but again enough to be worth doing. One thing really cool was down in the Utilidors the framed pins what looked to be from day 1, loads of them there and the pin replenishment station where CM's go for new ones. Old pictures and photos on the walls. Nowhere near enough time to get a good look but you get a glimpse of the history.
You get to eat lunch at Harbour House upstairs where its quiet(roped off)
Not cheap (what is in Disney?) but not OTT at about $75pp, I did see on that link when I just looked AAA discounts available, I never asked:headache:

We've done Keys, definitely worth it if you don't mind spoilers - we knew a lot of the stuff already and going to the Utilidors was pretty cool.

We've also done Undiscovered FutureWorld which we enjoyed equally, you don't get lunch though!

We did Keys to the Kingdom a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it! Would love to do another tour this year but can't find the extra money up this time, and would definitely recommend it:thumbsup2. I really enjoyed having all the different things pointed out and explained by a guide - there is so much we never realised!

The only "bad" bit of the whole day was seeing Woody walk around HEADLESS behind the scenes and it was a girl inside!! Headless was wrong enough but a girl!!!!!:scared1: I was in horror!!!!! (Yes I know most of the costumes are so small they have to be girls inside, but still!!!). She was carrying his head! It was like a horror film!!!:rotfl2:

Thats funny

Does it ruin the magic though doing this tour?

You don't really see anything you don't already know (we all know the characters have 'helpers') so it doesn't really spoil the magic at all, just enhances it. It's amazing how everything in the Magic Kingdom, even down to some of the merchandise carts have a back story to them - you'll end up seeing things that normally you just rush past going from one ride to another. I would say do it, you won't regret it!

Honestly, doesn't ruin it at all, and we learned loads of little things that make us appreciate the park so much more! Like the gravel path-track that runs through Liberty Square . . . did you know that is meant to replicate the . . . erm . . . "remains from the toilet" that used to run down the street in those days because they didn't have sewers?! I would never have known that otherwise. There is SO much details around MK that you just don't notice until you do something like this! I would love to do one of the other tours!

It didn't in the slightest for me, I did it with a work group as my kids are too young lucky enough to be out there on a course. As the others have said some of the things pointed out in the park were really interesting and our guide Megan was fantastic really entertaining.

One of the things I love about a Disney holiday is that I rarely stand anywhere thinking 'why does it have to be like this...' they have already experienced it and fixed it. The tour gave an insight to the efficiency which goes into the operation. Lets face it nothing will come as a shock, and the sheer volume of laundry and how they tackle it was amazing, I never thought I would say that!!!
