Behind the scenes Aladdin on Broadway pre-cruise

Has anyone done the behind the scenes port excursion offered on the Disney website for the New York cruises as a pre or post cruise experience? I know that the Adventures by Disney offers a 3-day itinerary for the trip to New York which seems to include something similar, but I was wondering if anyone had just done the port excursion alone without the rest of the Adventures by Disney weekend?

We signed up for this excursion for our cruise in November the night before sailing, and I'm just wondering what people thought of this event? They also offer the same event connected with the Lion King production, allowing for backstage theater tour, close up encounters with props, etc.
