Laurie, DS usually has a Halloween "theme" for his birthday. I used to feel bad that I was trying to combine the holidays, like I was cheating, but he likes it fine. It's not one of the holidays where you'd be double-dipping on the gifts. But I would go to the store to buy party stuff and all I could find was Halloween, so it just kinda happened whether I wanted it to or not.
I remember, growing up my birthday was about a week before school started, and I used to get school supplies for my birthday.
Now for my birthday it's about time for a new school year and the chance to drop the kids off and run, which is a much better gift.
DisDreamin, I would have read all 4 books in 5 days
(I do really believe you did that, too) unfortunately I don't have the last two yet. The library loan usually only takes a week, so they should show up soon enough. I'm sure I could have bought them, but this week's eye-scratching cost almost $100 between the dr and the drops, plus it has now occurred to me that maybe I should buy a new pair of glasses. You know, for the next 20 years.

I guess they've got plenty of people that lose glasses to keep them in business.
Can you believe 500 posts?

it's now called the galleria palms resort and its really fancy
dole whips, coffee & CHOCOLATE to all
) for DS it is mashed potatoes and for DP it is tuna noodle casserole, mine is peas (can't stand the taste or the texture). 95% of the time they eventually ask for more and find out they really do like it. We also do not offer a second meal. My mom used to cook 4 different meals at each meal time. It is what we make and if you decide not to eat it that is up to you but no snacking later. As someone once said, "If they are hungry enough they will eat the formica off the table."
