Aw, that's no fun! Yall were supposed to run through the gambit of all the stereotypical middle aged guy things.

But go ahead and check out my HOG!!!!!! (It's alot more impressive when you can actually hear me make the vroom, vroom noise!

I am sorry...I didn't mean to ruin it. I was originally thinking a motorcycle but figured since you are a cop you might not have one...seeing those accidents and all. So that is why I said bike...that way I could be covered either way. :goodvibes It is a nice looking bike!

Well you didn't ruin it, just shortened it a little, but that's okay. And you are absolutely correct...after working more than my fair share of collisions (there are no 'accidents') involving motorcycles, there would be no way you could get me on the back of one (and I used to ride quite a bit in HS). Heck I can't even get people to notice me when I'm driving a big marked car with lights!

Thank you I got it at this exclusive little bike shop called - Wal-Mart! My old bike was so rusted that the handbrakes were non-exsistant and the gears are rusted to the lowest setting so I pedal a million miles an hour but only go about three feet.

Love the last two updates - caught up once again. We've never been to Rafiki's planet watch OR Nemo! I'm not sure how we miss those everytime - I guess we always just think to ourselves "next time". :confused3

That goat sure looked like he/she enjoyed the brushing!

Ok Lynn I promised you pictures of Off Kilter and here you go...only 10 months later but hey better late then never.

Any day is a good day to see Off Kilter, even ten months later! They must have been playing something serious. They don't look like they are having much fun! Thanks so much!!

Great Nemo pics!!! Such a cute show!

We'll keep our fingers crossed that they don't do four-day school weeks! That would so mess up Disney vacations! ;)

Thanks! I certainly hope it doesn't come to four day weeks. Some of the colleges are doing it. We could go for a week and only miss four days, but it would still be tough.

Oh my goodness! Never to Rafiki or Nemo! You've got so much to look forward to!!

Day Three Part Five

After our emotional viewing on Nemo, It was time for some lunch! Past time, actually. (I’m sooo hungry!) We usually try to eat right at 11 to beat the crowds, but this day we got there at noon. It was insane. And we KNOW about insane!!! Pizzafari is our restaurant of choice and it was everyone else’s as well.

DSCF0686-1.jpg

Emily loves the stone cats inside the side entrance. They were totally surrounded by strollers this visit, but she climbed right over to get her picture made. It’s a tradition!!

DSCF0687-1.jpg

The line was huge!! While Chuck and I sorted out what to order, we sent the children to find a seat. The only place open was the outside area and though it was hot, it was shaded and not so bad. I’ll take a little more heat if it means a little less crowd!

DSCF0692-1.jpg

The food took forever, but Em is taking it in stride!

DSCF0690.jpg

I love the details all over AK!

DSCF0693.jpg

After lunch, we had one more thing to do before we said goodbye to AK for this trip.
We needed to visit our friend, Ms. Turtle. During our last visit, she was not feeling sociable. When a hundred years old you will be, being sociable you will not! The keeper told us that she was over 100 years old and she could do what she wanted. She has a home on our favorite secret paths near the Tree of Life.

The path is close to the river.

DSCF8736.jpg

After a few turns, we saw that she was out and ready for pictures. I’m ready for my close up Mr. Deville!

DSCF0694.jpg

It’s not a complete visit to AK without seeing our friend.

DSCF8741.jpg

Our path winds by the bottom of the Tree of life. What a beautiful sight!

DSCF8732-1.jpg

It was getting really hot (Getting?) at AKL and as always it seems, our bus took a long time to come. It doesn’t matter where we stay, it always takes forever to get home from AK.

I love the music they play on the Pop Century buses! I guess I was loving it a bit too much on this bus trip! We sat near the front and I gues I was drumming a bit loudly and singing, because the driver turned to look at me and said, “Great music, huh? I love driving the Pop bus!” He was a fun driver and we had a great conversation on the way back. You meet the best people at WDW! I think that is the only downside to the automatic playing music on the busses, you don’t get the bus driver spiel anymore.

Time to rest!! ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

I am glad you liked the Off Kilter Photos...I am not sure why they don't look too happy it was their first song. I wasn't able to listen to much b/c I had wondered off from DH b/c he was sitting on a bench enjoying the wine we got at one of the stands...I on the other hand had downed my glass and explored Canada a little but had to head back to find DH so we could go to dinner at Le Cellier.

Anyhoo...Your TR has given me a whole new perspective on AK. I am going to be on the hunt for that Turtle. I have never seen her before and think it would be wicked cool to see her. Thanks for sharing!

(PS did you see I put some Disneymoon pictures up on my PTR)

If you go see Ms. Turtle, say hey for us! The path she is on is really nice too.

Off to see your pictures!

Loved the Nemo pictures as did my 3 year old DD. She came over to look as well. She thought they were neat. I keep getting her to say, "Daddy, can we go see Mickey at Walt Disney World?" :rotfl:

That is completely evil, underhanded, and brilliant!!!

Very good Nemo pictures, nts4wdw!

I love being part of an evil plan!! Spread the obsession!!!!!!

Another great update. I never knew there were paths around the Tree of Life, I must explore! :thumbsup2

I also didn't know about the "secret" paths. Are they on the park maps or are they really secret? And if so, how do you find them? I can just picture myself climbing over a fence, trudging through the jungle and having an unplanned/unauthorized/life-threatening wildlife encounter. :sad2: Yeah, I'm melodramatic... can you tell??

Alright, I have pulled out my trusty box of trip stuff (excuse me while I whip this out!) and have found my AK map. The entrances to the paths are on there, but not really marked. If you look at the parade route as it goes around the Tree of Life, you will see little paths that look like they go in and stop. They don't stop. They go all around the base of the Tree and you can see the carvings up close and even touch some of them. Big Secret now~our favorite one is right before you pass over the bridge into Africa. If you are looking at the map, there is a paw there for an animal viewing location. That's Ms. Turtle.

Sorry if you were looking for dangerous wildlife excitement. We are strictly by-the-book, stay behind the fences, view from a safe distance kind of Animal Kingdom people.

I found you from another PTR and hope you don't mind me joining in on your fun. Love the way you write, so funny. Can't wait to read more!

:welcome: Thanks for joining us!! We have a good time writing it together, although we are way behind of updates!!

Love the choosing a Disney resort phobia thing!

Day Three Part Six

It was so hot during our days that we took longer than normal breaks.Hot. Don’t even begin to describe it!!! The ninth level of Heck was probably 20 degrees cooler!!! Add to that, that the super cool, spray-on sunscreen we brought with us had the protection consistency of water……(mental note, next time test the sunscreen out before getting in a position of needing it!) I don’t remember ever being so hot down there. And we have been in August.

DSCF0695.jpg

We decide to spend our evening in Epcot. With Off Kilter. It wasn’t all my idea. Okay, maybe it was mostly my idea.

Actually, we had yet to ride our two Epcot favorites, Test Track and Mission Space. Her favorites, I’m more of a Soarin and Figament sort of guy! Our plan was to get fastpasses for whichever line was longer and wait for the other. When we got there, there was no line for Spaceship Earth so I agreed to get the fastpasses while the others rode. I walk the fastest and it gave me a chance for a little alone time, which every mom needs on a family vacation.

I got fastpasses for Test Track which were about thiry minutes away (unbelievable) and Mission Space had a five minutes wait so I knew we’d do fine. I spent my time trolling the pin store and spending some quality time with my favorite fountain. Doesn’t get better than that!

Em sat with Chuck this time and neither of them particularly remember it, but here are the photos.

Mission Space was fun as always and we just walked right on.

DSCF0696.jpg

I love this ride, not so much for the ride itself, but for the fun we have on it. This is the only Thrill ride that a family of four is really all by themselves. Without the worry of bothering other people, we can scream and talk loudly, and really get into it. You know, like “Press the button, Em or we all die!” That sort of thing. At one point, the capcom told Chuck to release the shields and he yelled, “I’ve just released my bowels!” I have no memory of this. Sure, you don't.
On to Test Track. Not my favorite, but it’s fun. I just keep thinking of how many times a day that ride goes down, and what if we are the ones on that fast straightaway when it does. But no worries, Nothing can hurt you at WDW, right? We rode with two small children, a brother and sister from Tennessee. I thought they were awfully young to ride alone, but they said they always do because the single rider line goes faster. They were very sweet and we had a great time with them. When we were going towards the barrier test, the ride went down and Chuck turned to the little boy and said, “I told you not to push that button!”

Jake trying to capture images for the trip report.

DSCF8759.jpg

Should we be going this fast?

DSCF8761.jpg

After our ride it was over to Canada to see a few sets of Off Kilter. I had to get a good fix to last until December. That I can understand. However the cardboard sign you were holding saying ‘Marry me Jamie’ bears a bit of an explanation! I have no memory of this.

DSCF8764.jpg

Chuck found a great place to set up his tripod next to the rocks in Canada. We could spend the evening watching Off Kilter and waiting for Illuminations. It was great! With the rocks on one side of us, I only had to worry about fireworks squatters trying to move in on us from the right….unless they rappel down the side of the rocks……

The cannons are already in place.

Between sets, I took Em over to Mousegears to spend some of her money on the one thing she really wanted: Candy!! She filled up a bag with everything under the sun. Chuck and Jake stayed behind to save our spot.

Chuck looks thrilled.

DSCF0715-1.jpg

We were back in time for another Off Kilter set. After that we just waited for Illuminations and soaked up the atmosphere at Epcot. I, however, still had jewelry on my mind. I’ve been in that UK shop so many times, but tonight was the night! A girl not should have to wait for a man to buy her a ring, anyway!!

Here it is. It’s a Celtic knot design and I wear it every day. I love it. Sorry it’s not a great picture!

DSCF9471.jpg

Next trip, I’ll get some matching earrings!

Finally it’s time! Who doesn’t love Illuminations?

Afetr being Inspired by Illuminations, we slowly walked around the pond, allowing Chuck to stop and take as many pictures as he liked. She says that now, but I seem to recall a lot of impatient looks and foot tapping and the occasional “don’t you already have a picture of that?” and “the busses are going to stop running soon” It was a beautiful night. I can’t think of a better way to end a day at EPCOT!
