Beginning of April?

My kids' (7&10) spring break is April 2-7 will it absolutely be crazy town at that time?
Would it be worth it for them to miss school to go in early March instead?

Any help would be so appreciated!

I won't lie...that will probably be the busiest week of the spring break time frame simply because Easter is on the 8th, so many schools try to have spring break around the Easter holiday. "Spring Break" season is generally mid-March to mid-April. I have gone during "spring break" a lot and find it busy, but not unbearable. I don't go the week of Easter, however. When I have gone in late March, wait times for Indy and Space will be 90 minutes, Pirates will be about 25-30 minutes, rides like Buzz 30 minutes, and Peter Pan and Toy Story Midway Mania about 45. It's nothing like Christmas, but it's more crowded than many prefer. If you understand Fastpass, you'll go far

There are definite trade-offs. The danger of going during a non-peak season is that there might be rides down for refurbs, getting ready for the busy Spring Break season, and there may not be as many entertainment offerings.

Right now, the only things that look like they will be down are Grizzly River Rapids until March 9th and Matterhorn, but that will be closed until June. Fantasmic! is listed as being closed until later in February, but says it may not reopen until "later in Spring".

It depends on what is important to you. Children miss a lot even if they are absent for just a couple of days, and receiving a packet of work is just not the same as the experiences your kids would have in class.

We have been at the park several times the first week of April. During the week, lines are usually minimal most of the time. With Easter being on the eighth this year, of course park attendance will grow considerably beginning friday the sixth. Easter weekend will undoubtedly be crowded. Utilize the fastpass' when possible, until the lines become too much. Several times we have found DL to begin to get crowded, we have simply moved to DCA and found minimal number of people there. During the WOC show in DCA is a great time to ride ToT, as well as other bigger rides usually. Same way in DL during the parade and fireworks..RideMax is a good investment for holiday weekends, it is close most of the time.

This is just so hard to figure out because you'll have some that say 9 & 10 out of 10 crowds and others will say they have been there the 1st week of April and it was fine.

I just know my kids will not do that good if we have to wait an hour for each ride.

There is rarely ever a wait or 60 minutes for every ride. This doesn't happen at DLR because their ware way more attraction per guest than at WDW.

It will 100% be very busy. Look at the link I posted above it will show why.
