You are far more likely to be killed on the way to the polling station to vote, than you are to be killed by terrorists.

GWB has the largest most powerful democracy ever to exist on the planet, gripped with fear because it serves his purpose of being re-elected. How good does it make you feel to be a nation cowed with fear, when in reality you have more to fear from what you eat, driving your car, even walking down the stairs?

Whatever happened to, "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself"?

Why don't you mind your own business and keep your nose out of U.S. politics. I'm really tired of Europeons trying to tell us how to vote.

FDR was right then and you're right now acepepper. And unlike the previous poster I welcome your thoughts. Keep 'em coming.

Nice. We welcome more dissention. Let's make it a global election. How about a global election test?

Is that the best you can come up with?

Why don't you worry about what's happening in Kent? You make brash assumptions on why people are voting for Bush. Many people here, myself included, agree with his policies. This election is not only about terrorism, but about the economy, taxes, appointment of judges to the Supreme Court, and many other issues. I grant that terrorism is one. Although the percentages of what you state may be accurate, tell that to those who lost love ones on 9/11. On 9/10 they felt the same way. I suppose you would've been a supporter of Chamberlain in the 30's. Just as your Guardian made the mistake of trying to influence Ohio voters, you make the mistake of passing judgement on what American voters feel. We are not that gullible.

Btw, I am just as alarmed by people who would vote for GWB out of fear of terrorists as those who would vote for Kerry out of fear of the draft ......

IMHO, people should vote for the collective policies of the candidates, not just one....

Well....

I'm cautious of what and how I eat.

I'm cautious of how and where I drive.

I'm cautious of how I walk down the stairs.

Why shouldn't I be cautious of terrorists?

Well then, I wonder how the Kerry supporters will vote then since he keeps saying Bush hasn't gone after the terrorists (i.e. Osama Bin Laden) with enough force or conviction.

I will not be voting out of fear.

Isn't Blair planning an election in Feb? Why don't you worry about that?

Who says we are in fear?

Sound like you are more fearful of Bush being re-elected, for some unknown reason-- given that whoever is elected President of the US will likely have less impact on your life than even this Disboard does---than anyone in the US has of terrorism.

Was there a point you were attempting to make?

I'm voting based upon hope, and upon my wishes for a satisfying and productive future for my children.

And I'm voting for.....

Kerry/Edwards. They are going to win, and thank goodness at last.... HELP REALLY IS ON THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Kerry!:Pinkbounc

Acepepper,

I happen to agree with the first reply. I dare not tell foreingers which candidate of theirs to vote for and interfere with their politics, and I fully expect the same courtesy to be shown to me-especially from a person who hails from the 'land of good manners' :).

Anyway, it's too late :teeth: I've already voted and I strongly encourage others to vote early just for the sake of ignoring the political ads and campaiging. They really aren't so annoying once you've voted! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

and no, I'm not telling you who I voted for :p
