It's busy both. But after is busier imho.

I think it also depends when Easter and Fat Tuesday are bc LA has Mardi Gras week off.

It depends. You have to watch out for Mardi Gras, which moves around quite a bit year to year. For 2018, it's 2/13, the week before President's Day week. It was much later this year.

Also the Princess Half is the weekend following President's Day. That tends to increase crowds toward the end of that week (events are Thursday-Sunday).

My hunch is that it's going to mean a pretty busy two weeks in 2018.

Historically when I've gone just before Presidents Day, the resort rates start going up the Thursday before. When I was there the first half of the week before Pres Day, crowds were not bad. And from what I've read here, it sounds like the schools that have a Winter Break week then have the week that starts with Presidents Day. Just my impressions.

ETA the PP is right, you're going to have Mardi Gras crowds the week before PD next year.
