Before I call MS . . .

I want to be prepared for what I am doing and asking before I make the call. I hope this makes sense:

We are going to WDW for Christmas. We originally booked two studios (one for my parents and one for us) through the 24th at BW. We added one night once we booked our flights. Unfortunately, we only were able to get one studio that extra night (checking out on the 25th). We hoped to get another studio for my parents, but that never came through. We are perfectly fine with them coming over for the one night and sleeping on the pullout. We do not use the DDP, and we are within our occupancy limit, so no worries there. My question is with ME.

We will not need ME coming from the airport, but we do want to use it on checkout day on the 25th. My parents' names are on their room through the 24th, and our names are on our room through the 25th. If I call and try to add their names for the one night, will they make us cancel and rebook? I could just add them for the whole week since we aren't using DDP, but since their names are already on their own reservation, I don't want to cause alarms.

How do I best explain what we need to do without losing that studio on Christmas Eve? Thanks!!

You don't have to cancel and rebook to add them to your room. I usually only reserve my room for myself initially and then add any friends coming later, sometimes close to the trip date.

Are you going to wait list for the extra night in the 2nd studio? If so, I'd leave them on the waitlist. Add them to your room only when it's clear the waitlist isn't going to work. (7 days from check-in.)
