Always sponsored sport in the area.

What did you have locally?

I remember Schaefer. We had Esquire and Stoney's. The brewery is owned by Shirley Jones and family.

Schaefer was big in my area back when (NYC and suburbs). I didn't care for it, but one band I used to work with up there used their jingle as a break song, kicked up a few notches, of course.

Others were Rheingold and Schlitz. I think Schlitz was what I drank most. Piels and Balentine Ale were pretty popular, too.

From Philadelphia -

Schmidt's (Schmidt's will ring a bell for ya, Schmidlt's of Philadelphia, one beautiful beer!)

Ortlieb's

Piels (Bert and Harry)

My beer is Reingold the dry beer.............

I can sort of remember the brew-haha that went one when they closed the Ft Wayne plant.

I really remember when the city bought the facilities and cleaned them out. A lot of collectors got some pretty good hauls.

I even remember the jingle -

"Schaefer...is the...one beer to have,
When you're having more than one!"

Pabst Colt 45

Colt 45 is still around. There is a distributor right behind where I work. They also distribute Olympia.
They have a huge sign painted on the side of the building "Burgermeister...have a cold Burie today"....now THAT is a beer from the past.

This is what my Grandpa drank on the front lawn under the oak tree.:rotfl:
