Beer ?

Hi all!!
will be arriving @ BCV on Monday 6/29 and this is the first time no rental car.will be using ME and having Garden Grocer deliver food. My son (25yo) and my niece(28yo) requested beer and I was wondering where to get it nearby .I called GG and they told me I have to send an email to them and fax a copy of my license and then someone would call me back for payment info-this seems like a lot of work so I was wondering where else to get (2) 12 packs of beer -kids don't want to use the BC store-they state it would be too $. What about the gas station (BP/Hess) in front of the BW hotel? or is there anywhere else nearby?
Maybe I should just stick with GG -I hate these last-minute requests,they drive me crazy

I would do garden grocer, have used them in the past. Hess although cheaper than the resort still has a markup.

Trish! My goodness! What are you thinking?

If you are not drinking the beer, I say let the kids worry about it, LOL. Sounds like you are providing the beds and several meals, do you also have to provide cheap beer?

I agree with the poster who said to give the kids directions to the HESS station. It's about a mile (one way) from the BCV, so that will limit the amount they can bring back at a time as well as the number of trips they'll want to make.

I predict the beer at the BCV won't seem so expensive after only one round trip walk to Hess!

CAROLMN- yes they WILL be both paying and hiking to get it if I don't go thru GG-I am nice but not THAT nice!! I made the fatal mistake of asking them if they wanted anything alcoholic-they are both paying for their DDP and rarely ask for anything extra .
I'll probably just call GG in the AM and have them do it...hmmm wonder if they can deliver a nice frozen ,tropical drink for me?

I have use garden grocer 3 times and always get beer and some chix stuff for the wife and never had to fax any ID. Just send them and email tell them what you want. They will call you back and just tell you how much you owe. I found it to be very easy and had great service.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread.. We had already ordered from Garden Grocer to be delivered next week. I just sent them an e-mail requesting beer and wine, and they replied in about 5 minutes! All set.. Thanks again saved me the walk to the Hess!

We just take the walk over to the Hess across from Boardwalk and pick up beer and anything else we need. There is a BIG price difference. Just walk over to BWV, cut through and cross the road over to Hess. It's not a bad walk at all. One trip we walked over to the Hess across from DTD, opposite PI. DH got on the bus with his 12 pack of BUD and he did receive some odd looks and a couple of requests for a "cold one."

The Hess is about a 5 minute walk from the BW lobby door to door. You will see it as you pull in to the BW main gate entrance.

one thing is, do they want a decent beer selection or just cheap beer like bud or yuengling? if it is cheap beer, just go to the hess station, the prices aren't any higher than any other convenience store. You can get 1/2 case of yuengling there for less than $10. That is worth the buck or two for easy. If they want a decent selection, not great but decent, the closest most reasonable place is probably the publix across from the super target on 192; if you go by dak and down sherbeth road that is just a few miles. You can get the basics like a 1/2 case of sierra nevada, hoegarrden, etc. ~ $15, a lot better than the more touristy convenience stores close by.
