DCL does say they don't want anyone to pack any liquids in their suitcases that are checked with the porters.
I am well aware of that

We are going to pack a case in our carry on along with a few choice beverages. Seeing what airline employees do with checked baggage, I will be carring mine on!!

IMHO you can't bring enough beer on a 7 day cruise to make it worth the hassle! Sure you save a bit on a few beers but you have to ice them down, bring them with you too the pool, get them on board in the first place, etc. Its a vacation! Now bringing some vodka and such on board is a completely different thing!![]()
$4/beer isn't that bad for being in a 'resort' atmosphere. When we went on our last cruise in 2004 they were charging aroun $3/abeer. Maybe we can take a cooler & get some extra in Key West![]()
Just remember that your TIME also has value so how much of your valuable vacation time would be spent dealing with this? Also be frugile with your vacation time!
Lets do the math ....30 beers @ $4= $120+15% tip= $138 now if I bring my own $18.99+$15 extra bag charge= $33.99...so a savings of $104.01= WORTH MY TIME![]()

Rob
We took 3 cases of beer on the last time it was no hassle at all
We just put them in a bucket and carried it down to the pool and bar.
