My favorite is the Harp at UK and Dos Equis at Mexico.

I used to LOVE the beer they served in Norway, it was Ringnes (not sure of spelling) It was soooo good, I wish they would bring it back!

I didn't realize that Germany had doppelbock by the liter!

Last time I was at WDW, it seemed like they didn't have much of a selection. But then again, I'm a beer snob, beer brewer, and beer judge so it's got to be something really unique to pony up the Disney prices. Otherwise, I'll just go with wine or liquor (liver cross-training).

You probably won't find anything really unique at Disney though. I'd skip the 1664, it's just a really light, high adjunct (rice and corn instead of malted barley) beer. Definitely not worth the $5.

Go with the beer flights at the Boardwalk Brewpub. That'll be the most unique stuff you'll find.

If you like Grand Marnier, try the Grand Marnier flight at Brown Derby (two can split it). It's three shots of the three different types of Grand Marnier (regular, 100yr, and 150yr).

Germany: Spaten (there's probably a longer name for it, but some pleasantly drunk guest suggested it to us during the F&W Festival in October and it was great!)

We've tried both beer flights at Raglan Road and they were quite tasty - great especially if you're not familiar with some of the more popular beers from Europe.

I'm trying to remember them all ... Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Murphy's, Guiness, Tuch Weisen - I know there were more than that but I guess all that beer drinking has done something to my brain cells.

Oh ... one of my husband's favorites is La Fin du Monde which is a Canadian beer - not sure if that's available in Epcot.

Also, if you're going to Jiko, there's a great South African sparkling rose' on the wine list. I wish I could remember the name! Someday I'll learn to bring a notepad with me to all the Disney restaurants.

Anyway, it was an awesome start to a wonderful meal at Jiko.

Also the Big River Brewery at the Boardwalk has some great beers (mostly micro-brews)...I think they may even brew them in house!

I second that! Probably the best beer I've ever tasted. If you like a rich, hearty beer, you'll love it. Also, someone mentioned the beer flight at Raglan Road . . . there's also one at Biergarten in Germany. It includes the Spaten and 3 others (I think) but IMO the Spaten Optimator is the best!

Another vote for those Unibroue (sp?) beers at LeCellier. Quite a few years ago I sat at the bar at Wolfgang Pucks at DTD (the location across from the Virgin Megastore) and enjoyed sushi and some Japanese beers on tap. I hope they are still there and would recommend them if so.

My personal favorites ( as a home brewer and beer snob ) are Big River Grille and Brew Works on the boardwalk. Hand Crafted good beers with alternating seasonal beers. Aoso, the Germany Pavillion ESPECIALLY inside Biergarten where they offer much more choice than outside. ESPECIALLY Spaten Doppelbock ( a simply AMAZING beer ) that you can buy by the LITER ( think one huge beer stein that holds two pints! )

also, do any of you know if the Rose and Crown has brought back the 1/2 yard of ale??

It was such a bargain to refill it!!

If you want beers that you cannot buy at your local package store, you may want to try the Big River Brewing Works at the Boardwalk. They have several brews that you probably can't get anywhere else that are pretty good - probably better than the food there.

The draught Bass and Guinness at the Rose and Crown are also very good while watching IllumiNations even if you can get it in many other places on draught in the U.S.

I am not a beer expert by any means, but I do like a beer with Asian food. It just seems like a natural combo for me. That being said, I like the Kirin (sp?) beer in Japan, when we eat there.

DH did try a banana flavored beer at the Big River that he said was beyond weird. But if you like bananas . . .

I don't recall a banana flavored beer at Big River. Perhaps it was a hefeweizen, which an unfiltered wheat beer. The yeast produces esters which can smell/taste like banana and/or spices.

Pardon the fuzzy photo. I took a picture of the Raglan Road beer flight.
Basically, a flight is a tasting of mulitple samples. The glasses are smaller
than a normal glass, so when you're done, you drink about the equivalent
of a full glass. I haven't tried the whisky flight, but Raglan Road offers that, too.
And I've done a wine flight in the Germany pavilion's wine shop.

I've done the beer flight at Big River a few times and loved it. I want to try it and the whisky at Raglan Road but I doubt my wife would eat there. Is there a bar I could sit at in Raglan Road to try these flights?

I had the Tusker beer at the AKL last year. We just returned from WDW and I tried many different beers for the first time. I had different beers at Raglan Road, Yak & Yeti, and many of the countries in Epcot.

At a local beer pub I once had a Heffeweizen that was lightly flavored with bannana and a hint of clove!! Outstanding!!!!
