anyone have any sugestions on the best / cheapest way to get a case of beer? options for delivery or cab ride to the local store to pick it up? what about the hess station - take the bus to downtown disney and walk over?

Take a disney bus to DTD and right across the street is a Hess. We bought a 12 pack of Corona for around $13.00 and it came with a lime. There is only one problem that I "MIGHT" see from doing this; and that is bring beer (I know it's not opened) on a Disney bus.

I'm sure others have done this and will reply to this post. As for me; we drove to Disney from Canada so we had a way to get around.

Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.

If you can get to the Boardwalk, you can walk out to the main entrance and there is a Hess on the left that you'd be able to walk to. Then you can walk back and catch a bus or cab. This is a good option if you are staying in the Boardwalk area...

This is great information. Does Hess sell champagne or just beer? We're going to the port from WDW and would love to have champagne for the adults and sparkling cider for the kids, but would prefer not to pay limo prices for these.

Thanks!

If you do take a WDW bus with alcohol, I would suggest being very discreet about it. You will also need to put it inside of a bag that doesn't make it too obvious. You may want to just take the bus there and then take a taxi back.

I agree. If we do this, I'll bring a backpack for the bottles. I don't think we'll bother with the beer (our WDW is too short), but I'd love to surprise the kids. We may just get sparkling cider for everyone, same concept, but don't need to worry about transporting the alcohol.

gardengrocer will deliver your beer/wine to your room, along with any other snacks that go along with it for a $12 delivery fee.

We did the walk to Hess station from BWV and used a rolling suitcase, the walk is a lot further than it looks. LOL

For military personel staying elsewhere on Disney, Shades of Green does have an AAFES store on-property (alcohol sales are for DoD ID card holders, only).

Otherwise, the next best thing are the three Hess Express stations on WDW.

I agree with buzz5985. I sometimes feel like a poster child for Garden Grocer but I think they are fantastic. You must have a minimum order of $40 in food before you can add alcohol to your order. But $40 adds up quick on breakfast items and snacks. Plus, it is delivered to your room! When we are on vacation, it is vacation and we just don't want to be bothered with shopping for food and drinks, etc.
