Has anyone recently ordered beer through Garden Grocer and can give me the price you paid? Currious as to what the markup/price will be.

There are two grocery delivery services.

One is Garden Grocer and they have their list of grocery items and prices posted on their website. You order from them, at their prices, and they make the purchase and deliver to you. I think there is some markup in each item.

The other service is WeGoShop. They will shop anywhere you want (including discount places) and pay the prevailing price in that store. They bring your receipt, add a small charge to the total, and that's what you pay.

I don't know how the overall cost compares, but because of their business model WeGoShop obviously offers more flexibility in store, brand selection, and price.

Both services had bumpy patches in their service several years ago, but both have gotten very good reviews for several years.

whatever it is...it WILL be cheaper than disney...I think the disney dvc stores are charging something like $36 for a 6 pack!!!:scared1:

When we order with wegoshop, the only "mark up" is a $5 charge for a stop at a second store if you want hard liquor. The groceries in Florida sell wine and beer so it would not be an extra charge for it. Whatever the shelf price is is what you pay. Wegoshop charges a fee based on the total cost of your groceries and a 10% tip for the delivery person. Well worth the cost! They also used to do 50% off for a second shopping trip during your stay if you need a restock! :goodvibes Have had nothing but great things to say about them each time we used them. Keep in mind that Publix does great cakes and if you get one from them with a wegoshop delivery you're still many dollars ahead of the Disney pricing!

Call and ask them - it's been so long since I ordered I can't remember. But I think it was about $24.99 for a 24 pack of Miller Lite.

What I can tell you for sure - is on August 20, 2011 at Publix I paid $19.49 for a 24 pack of Miller Lite. :woohoo:

Another vote for WeGoShop. We have tried both services and WeGoShop had better service and better prices.

I don't know the prices at all the resorts, but SSR has 6 packs of Miller lite (and a few others...I can't remember what) for $15.00.

When we ordered from Garden Grocer in Dec. we paid $25.99 for a case of Miller lite and $15.99 for a 6 pack of an import. That seemed a bit steep, but it was less than buying it from the bar each time. We didn't pay a delivery fee, because we had a large order over $200.00

We've also ordered the same from Wegoshop in the past and was charged what was on the receipt, but the delivery charge caused us to pay even more for similar items.

Just last week I got a 6 pack of Corona through GardenGrocer and it was between $11 and $12 so it must be $4 or $5 extra charge.....

We called Garden Grocer and asked them what they had on sale. They were not very accommodating at first, but after asking a few ways they gave us the sale prices. They still marked things up $5 or so, but I think that we got Amstel Light on sale for a reasonable price. It was more than we would have paid if we had gone to the store ourselves, but we didn't have to deal with the hassle.

This next trips we'll be at WDW for 10 days, and I think that we'll take a cab to the grocery store at the beginning of our stay and stock up. We have a family of 5 plus grandparents so we can make a cab ride pay for itself.

Years ago there was JR Beer, cashing in on the show Dallas. On the side of the can was a picture of JR Ewing (Larry Hagman) with a big smile saying, "If you have to ask how much my beer costs, you probably can't afford it".

Somehow this came to mind.

We ordered 6 pack bottles of Yeungling Lager from Garden Grocer's website and told them that if it was over $15 to forget it. It ended up coming to around $10/$12, or something like that. They couldn't quote me a price beforehand, though. This was last November/'10. They were wonderful. It came separate from my original grocery order, which came during the day. The beer came late afternoon and they called me to let me know that the driver was at the beer store and it was $XX, and did I approve of the price. Wonderful customer service. They called again the next day to make sure that I was satisfied with everything. I highly recommend them. :thumbsup2

Depending on where you will be staying you can just go to the Hess gas station and get beer. You can take a bus to DTD and walk across the street to the Hess station get what you need and then take the bus back to your resort. If you are at the Boardwalk there is a Hess station at the enterance to the resort.

here is a link to the prices at the Hess station as of April 2011.
