Beer at the Parks

I am at the world right now and I have been shocked about the amount of beer being sold at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. They had guys walking around just like it was a baseball game or something yelling out get your beer. One person yelled out "Bud Lite guy". It just seemed tacky to me. I don't mind them selling it as long as everyone is behaving but I didn't pay that much money to come to a vacation like this. Everything else has been great with the lines being low and the weather has been perfect but that one issue leaves a sour taste in my mouth. What does everyone else think?

That's surprising to me. Usually the only place I've seen people walking around with beers is World Showcase at Epcot and for the most part people seem to be pretty well behaved except the occasional person or group that takes "drinking around the world" a little too seriously.

I kind of agree with both sides on this. I would enjoy a beer at the park, but I really wouldn't like to see beer vendors walking around yelling "get your beer here". I might want to hear that at a baseball game. Kind of adds to the experience, but not at MK.

Not a fan of it personally. Epcot is the park where you go if you want your alcohol. It's known more as the adult Disney park, and the variety of alcohol there is well versed, and can add to the world showcase experience. I dont like the thought of a beer seller walking around DHS or AK slogging off beers to all who want it. If im there with my kids, i dont want overzealous adults, young or old, drinking too much and ruining the day for people, whether it's us or someone else. If you really do need a beer in the park, then go to one of the sitdown restaurants to enjoy it. Im also of the mind that MK should stay alcohol free.

Thankfully it's not alcohol free -- downside is you have to grab a hard-to-get dinner reservation @ BOG to enjoy beer and wine. Sigh.

For the record, there's been beer & boozy drinks available at AK and DHS for years and I have yet to have someone else drinking ruin my experience at either park. Same for Epcot, and we've done F&W several times. In fact the only time I've seen stumbling drunks was on NYE at Epcot and even that didn't ruin my day (or night, really) I just walked past them. There are MANY other behaviors that others display that can ruin my day, so maybe I'm fortunate that alcohol hasn't been one (yet?).

Yeah, I've got no problem with them selling beer but I've never seen a walk-around vendor calling out like at a ball game, and I don't really like that. This must have been in the F! amphitheater, right?

Some people get caught up on a pet peeve and can't seem to let it go so they spend the vacation trying to find it so they can be upset instead of enjoying themselves. I don't run into people "slinging" beer around the parks and never have. I've seen a few people that probably should have said when a little earlier but in comparison to the millions I've seen not do that it's not in your face all the time and most trips you probably won't even notice it unless your hyper focused on finding it.

I really enjoy having a drink in the park, BUT I never have more than one. Personally I don't mind it as long as people are responsible and respectful of those around them. However, I think Walt Disney would roll over in his grave.

I've noticed the little carts set up but have never heard them yelling "get your cold beer here". If I did, it wouldn't bother me since I enjoy a cold beer on a hot day. Heck, I even had a cheese and beer pairing seminar at 9:15 in the morning at Epcot during F&W. If it bothers you enough to ruin your vacation, just ignore them, pretend they are yelling get your cold Dr. Pepper here and move on.
