beer at disney???

DH and I decided that we were going to fly down to Disney in dec instead of drive. It was a really big decision as we like our own vehicle but Air Canada has a great deal that we basically couldnt resist. My question is he was going to go to a local store and pick up some beer. Is there anywhere in the area that he can buy a 6 pack just to have some in the room for when the kids go to bed?

I know when we stayed at the Beach Club in August that they sold beer in the Marketplace right in the hotel.

we're staying at POP Century, I read in a msg a couple months ago about someone getting off at Downtown Disney going across the street to the Hess station because it was cheaper.. Is this true or a possibility?

Each resort has a gift shop. Each gift shop sells beer, wine and spirits.

Easy access to beer.

We did this in August. We would get off the bus at Pleasure Island and go across the street to the Hess station. The beer was about $12 for a 12 pack as opposed to $12 for a 6 pack in the gift shop. As well, if you are staying at Pop Century it is the last bus stop in the line which makes it closest to the gas station.

I picked up Duty free at the airport before we left there were no problems even taking a 24. That way we did't have to stop when we arrived.

oooh - good idea....i never would have thought of that! i only think of duty free on the way home!

We tried to pick up a bottle at duty free at Ottawa airport on way down to Orlando last month - told it had to be put in our checked luggage for flight down (couldn't carry on) - we didn't want to risk it breaking, so didn't buy there. However, when we arrived, we purchased beer at Contemporary gift shop - bought dozen at fraction of price of buying one at a time. Still would get better rates if bought at local store, but I guess it depends how much you think you might imbibe.

DH is thinking of renting a car when we get there since we'll be there for 12 days incase we want to go offsite for a day
