A poster on a Big River thread talked about a Beer at Disney Recommendation List. We're headed down in a few weeks, so having a list in hand would be nice. Well, fellow beer snobs, here it goes!

For me, I suppose the Spaten Oktoberfestbier at the Biergarten was one of the better ones. The Rose and Crown have some decent ones too, as I recall, though I can't think exactly what they have on tap now. The red at Big River was decent, too.

Anyone have some favorites? Some recommendations?

One of the best beers at EPCOT was Tennants Lager at the R&C but it was discontinued a few years back:mad:

My favorites now are:

Guinness - That goes without saying:lmao:
Gadzooks Pilsner - Big River Grill
Peroni - Italy

Abita Purple Haze @ POFQ....fresh and wheaty with just the right amount of raspberry sweetness! Definitely a girly beer for sure!

We need cdtommie to notice this thread and chime in. He's the biggest beer guru I've ever met. Hope he sees it. :)

there is a brew house at the boardwalk with some interesting looking ales on the menu. and as far as i'm concerned, you can't go wrong with a guinness at the rose and crown.

Guiness is certainly a good choice. I enjoy Tennants too (too bad it's not there anymore.

Someone said on another thread it's too bad that they don't sell Unibroue at the Canadian pavillion. I tend to agree. I'd be interested to try something unusual from Norway as well. Maybe I'll ask one of the CMs.

Do they sell anything interesting at Animal Kingdom? I seem to remember that at one point they had something I wanted to try (but can't remember the name just now).

Animal Kingdom has Safari Amber Ale -- made by Anheuser Bush just for Animal Kingdom -- it is very good.

A lot of the restaurants only had bottle beer. Who has draft?

Kirin from Japan, Carlberg from Norway, Safari Amber at AK, Kronenbourg 1664 from France, enjoy.

Flying Fish Cafe - I read that they have a beer from the Flying Fish Brewing Company - www.flyingfish.com Do they also have beer from the Big River Grille and Brewing Works right there on the Boardwalk?

Here's the beers listed for Big River Grille...
  • Gadzooks Pilsner - "Golden, medium-bodied, crisp finish."
  • Rocket Red Ale - "Red in color, robust body, malty finish."
  • Southern Flyer Light Lager - "Light gold, light-bodied, extremely refreshing."
  • Steamboat Pale Ale - "Golden color, medium-bodied, flavorful finish."
  • Sweet Magnolia Brown Ale (Winter Seasonal) - "Light brown, medium-bodied, subtle sweet finish."
  • Wowser's Wheat (Summer Seasoal) - "Light Gold, light-bodied, effervescent finish."

My dh is a big fan of Smithwicks. They had it on tap at Raglan Road. (And they had Strongbow on tap for me. :) ) They might have it at Rose & Crown too.

I've found that at the nicer places, if you ask your server about available beers you'll find some that aren't just the run-of-the-mill beers. Often there's a Sam Adams specialty brew.

Unfortunately, they haven't had any FF beer for years. Just like most of the other resort/restaurant beer lists, FF's has been dumbed down to nothing but the usual mass produced stuff.

I agree I had this beer at the Food and Wine Festival in 2008 on tap it was soo good!!! I found it bottled where I live but it's just not the same. I'm also a fan of Tusker it can be found the the Animal Kingdom Lodge, found this 1 at home to but it's not the same, I need to be sitting at the pool drinking it. hehe. :):)

I saw :worship: Yuengling at Epcot.

Yeah, I know, it's a domestic but it is not sold in Ohio.

I was very disappointed with the beer at Big River - I got the sampler. Actually, I was disappointed with the beer at all the restaurants - then again, I'm not much of a golden beer drinker. Each place I went, I tried a beer from that country - I swear they all use the same recipe.

Epcot however, you can get good beer...and yeah, u can't go wrong with Guinness! Grab a Bass in England...so I think Epcot is the place to go country to country for beer.

Here is what is offered at Raglan Road (according to raglanroadirishpub.com):
Guinness
Murphy’s Red Creamy Irish Ale
Smithwicks Irish Ale
Harp Irish Lager
Boddingtons’s Ale
Bass Ale
Stella Artios
Kronenbourg 1664
Tucher Hefeweiss
Strongbow Cider
Newcastle Brown Ale

They have a flight of beer as well, but I can't find the list of what that includes.
