Been there NEVER going back

I have a few places but I'd rather not say because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. So let me just say that large southern cities (except New Orleans) are not my cup of tea.

Albuquerque, NM....didn't go there on vacation but for business and it is not a place I would ever return.

I agree with you on this one! I went on a band trip for NCAA tournament. We had quite a bit of free time, and I was extremely bored.

A lot of people have said Pigeon Forge. Sure, its a complete eye sore of a town (and so is Gatlinburg even though they try to disguise it a bit more), but I enjoyed it. Plus, they've got Dollywood!

Oooh, speaking of tourist traps with horrible traffic, how bout Wisconsin Dells?

I did not like Tijuana. It was just very dirty to me. Nassau reminded me of Tijuana but not quite so bad.

I enjoyed Pigeon Forge and Branson, but not the traffic that goes with it.

Myrtle Beach. I live near Pigeon Forge and it is essentially the same and just like everyone described but it will always hold a special place in my heart since I grew up nearby and remember it as it used to be.

I also don't care to ever return to:
Freeport Bahamas
Atlanta (but I know I will since I have family there)
any Shoney's
Circus Circus Manor rooms and the buffet in Las Vegas. Vegas was fun but those rooms and the buffet....BLECK!

Chuck E Cheese

I'm not surprised at the Myrtle Beach answers. Spending most of my college weekends there helped learn the back roads and ways to get around the traffic. We enjoy going and staying at the end of OD at Springmaid Beach.

Nah...I think we're all grown up enough not to take offense. Every place is not for every person, that's for sure! It's actually kind of interesting to see why people pick the places they pick.

Like Charleston....that happens to be one of my favorite cities anywhere. LOVE it. But someone on here says it was "dirty and smelly" to them. The dirty I don't get, but the smelly I do. It's called low tide and it smells like home to me. Boy, how I miss that marsh-at-low-tide smell! But for some people that just doesn't do it for them. (I also love the architecture, the food, the people, the events, and my memories of 4 fabulous college years there.....but that smell....it can bring me back!) But I understand. My DH hates the place....he says it rained and he got a parking ticket every time he came to see me there (every other weekend for a year). Guess I'd hate it, too, if that was my impression!

Big Southern cities to me says Atlanta....there's another city with a serious love/hate relationship. We love it....it's where DH went to school! :teeth: But most people we know hate it, and we can understand why....

I agree with Circus Circus. I wish I could avoid the Califonia Pizza Kitchen, but my friends love it.

I can't say I would never go here again but I did not like Grand Cayman at all! The people were so terribly rude there. i could not get over it. Pricing was alos INSANE too! I was pg with my son when I went and got sick in the heat and a lady cussed me out for wanting to use the bathroom in her resturaunt. I was blown away. Then we tried to get me a drink which cost $3 for a BOTTLE of soda..lol Crazy! Did have pretty beaches though. that was the only part I enjoyed.

We got o Pigeon Forge every year and I like that there is a lot to do there and we rent a really nice cabin up there. I love going to the Dixie Stampede and the Apple barn SOO much! Plus they have a huge outlet mall I love. Other than that though the traffic drives me mad, the people are sometimes less than friendly in certain places and the roads up to the cabins are terrible!! Plus it is a good 5 hour drive from here and I do hate the drive.

st. peterburg, fl (was let down)
windsor, canada (i'd much rather go the niagara falls casino)

Myrtle Beach. We both hated it. Traffic was awful so getting anywhere was a headache. Also, service in the three restaurants we visited was mediocre to non-existent.

Any and all Mexican border towns! Just plain scary!

The rooms at LV's Tropicana Hotel. :scared: We lasted 10 minutes in that awful place, walked across the street and booked the rest of our week at Monte Carlo.......great choice, btw!! :)

Another vote for Antigua.

We went there 16 years ago for our honeymoon and DH still passes comments.....

Birmingham, Ala.

We could hear gunfire at a football bowl game. Our alumni tour bus had to have a police escort to get to the stadium. Our rental car was rear ended just before we were able to get to the airport. I swore if I got away alive that I would never return.

Roatan, Honduras. Stopped there on a cruise. Should have stayed on the ship.

May I ask why you didn't like stopping there? Some friends of mine want to go there on vacation. I'd like to warn them before they make a mistake.
