We all slept in this morning until 7:30. Up and out to a PS at Boatwrights for 8:10. We enjoyed the breakfast except DD12 couldn't understand why her french toast was so huge (it was made with a beignet) and the kids didn't like their potatoes. Their used to the greasy, chopped up potatoes that we serve at the diner I work at.
DD12 and I headed out to the Grand Floridian Spa for a couple of treatments. We both had a 25-minute massage followed by a 25-minute face and scalp massage. Talk about heavenly!! Even after we were all done they have a great shower room with everything from toothpaste, combs, hair products, mouthwash, lotions - the list goes on and on. Then we went onto the Grand Floridian Cafe for a very nice lunch. The CM that checked us in was from West Seneca, NY which is near where I grew up. That was something I found myself doing thru the whole trip - checking the CM's tags to see where they were from. I thought that was the neatest thing. The Grand Floridian is quite beautiful but I think it was a little to upscale for us. So we headed back to the resort and it was the guys turn. DH and DS14 went to the Grand Floridian for the same treatments that DD and I just had. What a wonderfully relaxing afternoon.
Headed back out around 5:15 (without DS14 due to his having a headache) and made our PS at Whispering Canyon Cafe for 6pm. The Wilderness Lodge lobby is interesting (and noisy). I would love to look into staying here sometime. It seems rustic but not. The Whispering Canyon Cafe was everything we had heard about. Of course DD12 asked for ketchup - big mistake. At one point DS4 had crawled under the table and our server made a huge deal about the mickey mouse on the back of his head. He started herding people from other tables over to our table to see the "hidden mickey". I think I should tell you that just before we left I had mickey mouse ears shaved into the back of my DS4's head. He had gotten quite a bit of attention from it but not this much all at once! The food was really good and we definately had a rip roarin time.
After dinner we went into Downtown Disney to the Once Upon A Toy Store where I proceeded to pack a box of Mr. Potato Head items until I didn't think I could fit anything more. Lo and behold, the CM there (thank you again Maria from Portagese!!) emptied our box and repacked it so we could pick out so many more pieces. There has to be an art to it. This woman amazed me. The pieces are really neat to because there are alot that you can't get anywhere else. When we were ready to head out it was raining buckets so we went to the bus stop to go back to the resort (while first witnessing a boy about 10 yrs old urinating against the bus stop while his mother tried to keep him covered - which didn't work). Got back to the resort and crashed out. Back to AK tomorrow.
