I know I've been gone way too long. This is our last full week of school and then we have break. I promise to do some major updating here then. As I said, I got a new job so now I work 5 days a week. Before that I made plans to teach all of these Art classes at the library and for Girl Scouts on the weekends. This week was the first time ever I worked 7 days in a row. Not to mention, I sprained my ankle. We're all super busy here.
The important thing is..... 3 months until Disney!!!!
Coming up: Trip drama, pictures, christmas time, and Disney purchases.

That's not too long. Does that mean you can still go on vacation over Thanksgiving?

The doctor ended up finding a fracture in her foot. She had a crutches for a month and now had a walking cast until next week. So, about 2 months total.
Sadly, the Thanksgiving trip never happened.

Glad it's nothing more serious. Sending pixie dust that she'll be out of the cast and off the crutches before your trip.

Thanks! Now I have a sprained foot. We're just a house full of hobblers.

Ok so if you do end up going...which sounds iffy now...poor Emily...but thank goodness it is not super serious and you do have a few other trips in the works later in 2011...we can just play it by ear for the 25th Thanksgiving day...and we have our back-up plan for Jan

What are your dates for January again? I got invited to a wedding that I have to go to but I'm going to try to fly out of MDO and get at least 2 nights in January.

Oh no! I hope Emily's foot heals up in time for the trip!

Sadly, it didn't heal in time. She still has the walking cast, but no crutches.
Thank you! For the new job, I wake up at 5 and don't get home until 6:30. It's super exhausting.

Let's see the January trip got invaded by a wedding but I think I might be able to fly out of MDO and get 2 nights in WDW.
March-- 3 months from today.
September or last week of summer-- I like the idea of WL and AKL for $130 a night but that's wishful thinking right now. Also, assuming Disney has the same deals as last year.
November-- way to far away.
I know! I'm sorry. I need to get caught up. We are enjoying it. We had a great Hanukkah. I started decorating the house Thanksgiving weekend but i never finished. The girls have their outfits for Christmas card. I'll probably just take it in the grass. I did finish all my shopping, though.

That's terrible about Emily's foot, hope nothing too serious! It's odd, I woke up this morning and my knee was hurting really bad whenever I bent it. I asked my 1st period teacher to just stand up all class period since we were just watching a movie. He let me. I was pretty much fine after that though, I just have no idea how it started hurting! Praying Emily will be alright

So sorry about Emily's injury. These busy kids don't have time for silly nonsense like being hurt. Poor girl - thinking about missing so many fun things. I hope she does heal very quickly and can be a part of all of her events.

Wilderness Lodge in January does sound very nice, and January is just a blink away.

I know just about every word in TS3. Every time I watch it, I hope Lotso will change.
Thank you! So far, I've sent her an Aquarium project and a totem pole project. I would like to send the totem pole project to the WL and maybe they could do it as part of their resort activities? Come on down! I think we would make a great team.
She did go on the States trip. She couldn't march but she did get to use an ECV in DHS with the band.
I keep telling myself 2 nights at POP and NY will be nice in January. It's going to be hard to cancel those ADRs. (We have a wedding to go to the same week as the trip!)

our basic plans are

20-arrival/DHS and F!

21-MK/Epcot-EMH

22-AK/MK w/ 1900 PF dinner before MK

23-departure free choice day...I'll most likely be at MK for a good portion of our time before heading home

As you know, I had booked free dining at POFQ for January 21-26. I was able to book some great ADRs, Touring Plans was predicting low crowds, and I had a DIS Meet planned. Sounds great, right? It got better. Since we had to cancel the November trip due to hobblers I was able to upgrade to my favorite resort, the Wilderness Lodge. Now that was perfect!
I knew my cousin was getting married and we would be at the wedding I just wasn't sure the exact date of the wedding. One trip to the mail box and my dream trip was now in jeopardy. The wedding is January 19th. I bet you didn't see that one coming, did you? Meaning we have to be in NY by the 18th. Bye, bye, Disney trip. He is my first cousin and I can't say "Oh, sorry we're going to Disney World instead" Somehow, I just don't think the family will let me live past that one. We told the girls that instead of going to WDW we would be going to NY. They were thrilled! Emily is excited to go skiing. Amy, who has never seen snow, is thrilled! For some odd reason, the soapy substance falling during the Osbourne lights just doesn't cut it for her. Either does the snowman by Pizza Planet. DH and I were looking into flights out of Ft. Lauderdale and those prices were high. We checked West Palm Beach to find even worse prices then I got the idea to check MDO. Yes, great prices! We booked a round trip from MDO to Buffolo January 16th and fly home the 20th. That would mean we would have to be in Orlando by the 15th for our 1:00 flight. Ugh oh, guess we have to spend the night in Orlando. Where ever will we stay? How about POP for two nights-- 14th-16th. That sounds nice, doesn't it? That way we get the best of both worlds. Then last night I was on Facebook and this magical little add pops up for 42% off WDW resorts. I checked our dates and POP was $50 a night. If POP is that low, then POFQ must be low. It was $98 a night. If a moderate is that low then how much are the deluxe resorts. I plugged in WL and out came $159 a night. YES! I called this morning and upgraded us from POP to WL.
So now, we'll be at WL the 14-16th and NY from the 16th to the 20th for a wedding, skiing, and visiting family!

Yes! I have to plan what we're going to do for out 2 nights in WDW. It doesn't make sense to start our season passes for only 1 day so we won't be going into the parks. We'll hit up DTD, the BW, do some mini golf, and I have some yummy ADRs. I'm considering adding HDDR.

The flight for myyself and 1 of the Mom's who I am traveling w/ is scheduled to arrive at MCO at 10:20 am. 3 others in our party will be arrivng between 10:40-11:15 am...not sure if we'll be waiting on them or heading straight to AKV....my thinking is you'd be getting hm after us arriving.

We'll be getting in at 2:15. So sadly, it's not going to work. I would love to drive back to WDW for a few hours before driving home but that means we wouldn't get home until 9 and E has to be at school at 7:30 the next day for midterms. I'm sorry.

Back in the 90s early 2000s, I would get that for deluxe and $80 a night for the mods. At those prices, I could easily justify a quick weekend trip. Sadly, the prices have gone up a lot since. I'm still able to get those prices through FL resident deals every now and then, though.

Hey all!
To start of Happy New Year! Hope 2011 brings health, joy, fun memories,and maybe even a nice Disney trip.
We just came back from a very last minute trip to Disney World for New Years.
We had a fantastic trip filled with good times, great weather, and yup, no rain!
We're leaving again for Disney in just 12 days. I'll do my best to do a mini report of our 5 magical nights with the 1,200 pictures I took. Maybe if I just post face pictures and just a few non-face pictures I'll be able to finish it before we leave again.
We didn't have the nerve to venture into a park NYE week until we received just about the best pixie dust EVER on NYE. FB friends-- you already know!! This was the best NYE EVER!!
Should I do the mini report on this thread or start a new one? If I start a new thread, what should I name it?
Also, can anyone guess how many rooms we had to have at the Dolphin?
Oh, and we WILL be at the NYE mega meet next year at the Poly.
