Hey Everyone! This is my first post. I've been reading these boards forever preparing for our trip. We got back last week and I wanted to thank everyone for their advice! Now, if anyone has any questions, just let me know! We had 12 people total on the trip. We took my DS(4), DD(2) and DS(7months). We stayed at OKW for 3 nights.

Welcome to the wonderful world of posting!! :flower:

The only question I have is what the weather was like.. My sis will start the long drive back up here to New York sometime today.. :)

The first two days were warm but nice. Even my family from California said it was nice. The last two days were pretty humid even for us (I live in the South). But it only rained once.

What did you think of OKW? We are thinking of renting points there for our next trip. Any info would be appreciated. ::MinnieMo

Did your group all hang together or did you split up a lot and how did you balance that out?

What did your kids think of their first trip?

Grumpy's Wife:
OKW is very nice. It's very spread out though, but we were right next to a pool and not far from a bus stop (they have 4 or 5 stops I think) so it wasn't a big deal. We had a 2BR Villa and it was huge! Lots of space for my family of 5 as well as my parents. My baby actually slept in the laundry room becasue it was big enough for a pack-n-play (sounds terrible, but it was better than trying to get him to sleep while the other two were still wired from the parks). The boat ride to DTD was relaxing (read: "It took a while"). We rode the buses to the theme parks with no problem except with MK on it's morning EMH. Like others have said, it keeps with Key West vibe and is pretty laid back. Others have complained it likes that Disney magic, but we didn't think so. It just wasn't "in your face" themeing and I think that was intentional. We've stayed at BWV and we tried there for this trip but they were booked. BWV is better located, but it's hard to beat OKW for the size of the villas if that matters to you. I'm glad we stayed there and would stay again.

I was really the only one who planned so I thought it was going to be a nightmare. But it worked out fine. They mostly followed my family around in the mornings and then we did our own thing in the afternoon and night. We did all the classics at MK together which was great. I did only schedule one PS for the whole group since we all have different schedules and interests.

We had taken the older two (technically the baby too since I was 7 months pregnant) to MK for the day last summer (my parenst live about 45 minutes away) so they had only been there before. My son liked MGM (I'm turning him into a Star Wars geek). But it was very exciting for them that they didn't have to leave each night. We'd be on the buses and they would ask "Are we still at at Disney World?" "Yes, baby we are." If only we still were...
