*Bedtime Wishes* 11-25 August 2011 Trip Report Day 14-MK

Day 14 Wednesday 24th August 2011 MK
Today is our final full day! cant believe its nearly over.
We usually spend the last day at MK and watch Wishes by the castle on our last night.
Well today was no different!
I havent really enjoyed the meals on our last night over the past trips. Weve had a very bad experience at California Grill and an average experience at Crystal Palace. So this time I decided I wanted to just get a counter meal and enjoy the park instead. However that was my plan until Matt decided he wanted to eat at Cinderellas Royal Table! yes I know its very girly and I was a bit worried about poor Luke. I also knew the food wasnt to everyones taste and didnt think we'd enjoy it.
Anyway an Adr was booked so CRT it was.
We started the day by a quick breakfast at the Contempo and did some packing before heading to MK.

When we got to MK we took the train to Frontier land and rode on Splash mountain followed by Big thunder mountain. Next we went on Pirates of the Caribbean ride before deciding to stop for lunch.
We went to Caseys Corner and got a couple of hot dog meals, with cracker jack and cotton candy as the desserts. It was nice to get something different.
Luke loves hotdogs, so this was ideal for him. The seating here is a bit of a struggle as a lot of it is outside and all squashed together. Plus most of it was in the sun and it was just too hot to sit outside.

We then went to do lots of shopping, we usually do it on our last full day. The only problem with that is we cant get the gifts sent to our hotel.

As we were shopping the parade was going on outside.

When we had done most of the shopping we then decided to spend the rest of our credits-we still had lots. Matt got lots of fudge (not pictured)

With all our goodies we caught the monorail back to the hotel to drop off. I pretty much packed it all straight away.
After a short rest and change we caught the monorail to MK.
I noticed the boarding they had put up at GF ready for the DVC build. I thought it was a bit of a shame as it look like theyd sectioned off a lot of the area where I had my wedding pictures taken. I just hope when the DVC is built, it doesnt impact too much on the Wedding Pavillion.

When we got to MK, the flag ceremony was about to start soon. We'd never seen it before so waited.

It was then time to head to the castle for our ADR at CRT.

Our ADR was earlyish 5.30pm, to give us plenty of time to enjoy the evening. We checked in ok and waited in the queue to take our picture with Cinderella.
She was really lovely and interacted well with everyone. The picture was nice and its great it was included. They also took a few pictures with my camera, which I thought was great.

It was nice looking around the inside of the castle, it took a while before they called our name to be seated-they have a lift to get upstairs.
Just as we were sitting down someone proposed, so there was a big celebration.
It was a lovely setting and the interior was well designed.

For your meal here, you are allowed a starter, entree and dessert. Theres a small selection to choose from, it is all you can eat. However we just stuck to the 3 dishes each.
Matt -Soup of the day-Clam chowder, however it had corn in. which Matt didnt like. Apart from that he seemed to enjoy it.

Luke-Royal Tasting of Cheese - a trio of cheeses with accompaniments
I thought there would be a cheese Luke would like, however he didnt enjoy this.

Nicky-Rock Shrimp Cocktail - rock shrimp with tomato marmalade.
It was ok but I didnt really enjoy it much.

Matt-Pork three ways. Matt really didnt enjoy this but ate what he could.

Nicky-beef with duchess potatoes and a red wine sauce.
this was ok, Matt enjoyed it.

Luke-Fried Chicken - fried chicken with a house-made Macaroni and Cheese and Cheese and Broccolini
Luke didnt really enjoy it but said he would eat some. I tried a bit later and it was lovely.
I would have enjoyed my meal better if I chose this.

Desserts-
Matt & Luke both got.
Valrhona Chocolate Mousse - A light chocolate mousse presented with berries and raspberry sauce.
again Luke didnt like this, Matt enjoyed it.

Nicky-Chef's Dessert Trio - Cinderella sent her chefs around the world to discover new desserts. They are happy to share their favorites with you.
I thought these were ok but not great.

During the meal the princesses came around. I like the way they were announced to the room when they entered.

Snow White, was lovely and interacted well wth Luke. She said the colour of his top was like dopeys hat. She also said he was bashful, I think she made Luke blush a lot.
I thught she was wonderful and she said some really lovely things to me.

Belle was also very lovely and interacted well. She spotted Storm troopers on Matts shirt and had to look closer at it.
When we told her what Lukes name was she started going on about Star Wars.
I thought she was fab.

As for the other two......
well they stopped at our table and we got a picture but that was all the interaction we got, they didnt even bend slightly to get into the picture.
It didnt worry us though as Belle and Snow White more than made up for it.

The service was ok and the tip is included in the price of the meal.
Overall it went how I expected. I knew the meal wasnt the reason many go to CRT, overall its the whole experience and eating in the castle. Thats not to say that many dont enjoy the food. They also seem to change the menu a lot, there has been another menu change since we went. Its got better things, that we all would have enjoyed.
Im glad we went as it is nice to eat in the castle but not sure that we would return.
After our meal we went to walk around the back of the castle and try to catch glimpses of the expansion.

We then went on Buzz Lightyears space ranger spin before going on the TTA Peoplemover.
I offered Luke the chance to get something else to eat as he hadnt really eaten a lot but he said he was ok. We also had lots of quick service credits to use, so thought we could use a couple-even if we just got drinks, burgers and cookies. However we never got round to getting anything. We headed to find a spot to watch the Electric parade and then moved slightly later on to get a good view of the castle for Wishes later on before heading back to the hotel.

it was a lovely day, just nice and relaxing.
had lots of time to go over things again and look around.
spotted loads more this time

not sure whats going on with my pictures, some id rotated arent showing as rotated. When I go to the album theyre the correct way
deleted a few of them, even tried rotating them again etc

I agree with you about the castle, the surroundings far out weigh the quality of the food

Hmmm got to say none of your CRT meal photos looked very appetising which is a shame, especially as it was your last night. We've been to CRT for breakfast which was nice although even then you're really paying for the experience of eating in the Castle rather than the food.
