Bed rails question

We are sailing on the Wonder in a few weeks in a Family Verandah stateroom that sleeps 5, for our family of four. My husband, myself, 4 yr old DD and 11 mo old DS. The baby is still nursing and once he wakes up from his crib, he just goes into bed with me. DD also ends up in our bed at some point every night. Luckily we have a king!

I'm guessing that I will end up sleeping in the big bed with one kid on each side of me (and lucky hubby will get the sofa bed all to himself), so I was wondering if the bed rails can go on that bed or just the small ones? I really just want one on the side with the baby. I put the request in online but I could only put it under DD because of her age.

You'd like the bedrails on the queen bed (it's a queen, not a king)? Yes, that should be possible. Just explain to your stateroom host.

FYI... you indicated your staterooms sleeps 5, but not all staterooms in that category sleep 5. So you may not have the additional murphy bed. Doesn't sound like you plan to use it anyway, but wanted to point that out.

Enjoy your cruise!

Yes I would like them on the queen. I saw pictures of the rails and I wasn't sure if they were compatible because of the mattress height. Our mattress at home is too tall to work with the bed rail we bought for my daughter's old toddler bed, you only get a few inches sticking up.

On the deck plans, the room said it sleeps 5 so I'm hoping it does! I noticed some said 4-5. We do not plan to use it necessarily, but my sister's family is in the room next to us (not adjoining unfortunately) and who knows where the older kids will end up falling asleep. Also they do have five people in one room and will need the extra bed!

Thanks!

Their room will definitely have the Murphy bed for the 5th person. Since they booked for 5 the room would not book for them unless it had beds for 5. Yours may not. In our case, we had two cabins, one with 4 and one with 5 people. Both cabin were the Family Veranda 4-5 people, but when it came to picking actual rooms, our 4-persons could pick some rooms that their 5-persons could not. That turned out to be because we were able to select rooms that could only hold 4 persons, even though they were the same category. Does that make sense? There is a spot on these boards where you can look up specific staterooms and see exactly what it has. I

If you post your room number and the name of the ship, someone will probably tell you directly.

Just an FYI... If her room is next to yours, it IS adjoining.

It may not be connecting (door between the rooms), but rooms next to each other (or even across the hall from each other, they ARE adjoining.

Do you have that in your autotext? :)

If you don't, you should.

Educating the public!

I should. LOL.

I know it so well because I worked in a hotel for a while and in reservations we always tried to clarify with the guest when they requested "adjoining" if they meant connecting with a door in between or just next to/across the hall/diagonal from. And invariably someone would insist "Yes, adjoining rooms is what I want" and then when they got "adjoining" rooms they would be back at the front desk yelling that they didn't have "adjoining rooms" while the manager on duty would try to see if there were any "connecting rooms" the party in "adjoining rooms" could be moved to.
