I hope I am posting in the right spot-
We are taking DD (21 months) to Disney World the end of Feb. and I was wondering if we ask for the side rails for the bed, will they give us 2? I don't think she will be comfortable in a pack and play being that she has her own bed but I don't want her to be in her own bed with only one side. She rolls around and kicks sssooo much so I wanted her to be in her own bed. If I couldn't get 2 do you think they would care if we moved the room around a little and pushed a bed up against the wall? TIA!!

I believe you can get 2 if you ask.
But you still may want to push the bed closest to the bathroom up against the wall and use the 2 rails for the side and foot of the bed.

the resorts do have them, i would have it added on as a request on your reservation and also they do not guarantee them. We got them when we went in august but did not use them because they were so gross. we had them bring us another rail and it was equally as gross. so we ended up pushing chairs up next to the bed at night and that worked fine. good luck.

We got 2 at Pop in Sept and then again a few days later when we checked in to the Poly. They were pretty long and they were in good shape and clean; did not find them to be "gross" or maybe I just have lower standards than the PP!!

We have asked for them in the past but they were always out. We just made a little barrier with the pillows and didn't have any problem with kids falling off.

I have also received "gross" (in terms of dirty) bed rails. On top of being "gross" the mesh was full of holes and one of the "legs" that goes under the mattress was broken...so pretty much useless.

But back to your original question...yes you can get 2 if they are available. I don't bother any more, I just put pillows under the sheets and tuck them in tight to form a barrier. Then I sleep on the other side as a "barrier".

I received 2 rails in Dec at CBR. I hadn't requested them early, just called after I saw how high the beds were. I did have to call 2x. We only needed one rail and they took the other back. The one I kept was a lot longer but not as high as the other. You may want to request 2 even if you need 1 so you can see which works better for your family.

We did exactly as the others have stated- pushed the bed against the wall, used pillows under the sheet at the foot and I was the barrier on the other side.

I ordered the pack and play for my DD she will be 22 months , but now Im wondering if it will be too hard, she sleeps in a todler bed now, I wish they had toddler beds! Im wondering now if I should order the bed rails too and see what works best, do they have cots? or roll away beds? do they charge for them? I would think the roll away would be really close to the floor no?

When my kids were little, whenever we stayed in a hotel we brought a sheet and blanket for them and made a sleeping pad out of the comforter (covered with our sheet from home) on the floor. If we were driving, we brought a twin air mattress and used that.
No falling off the bed- and no getting kicked while sharing the bed with a wiggly toddler! ;)

But if you can't bring your own bedding- the bedrails and/or pillow barriers should be fine.

well we definatly wont have room to bring bedding with ua as we are flying.
I think I will use your Idea but fold the comforter into the pack and play they provide to make it less hard I think that would work and keep her contained.

Thanks

I think that A Baby's Best Friend rents toddler beds for a nominal fee. I just tried to validate but their website must be having problems at the moment (abbf.com). I researched for a trip back in Sept but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the toddler bed.

We stayed at the CR back in November for seven nights. The first night, we used pillows to make a barricade. Our three year old fell out anyway. In the morning, we called downstairs and asked if they had bed rails. They brought us two automatically. We only used the one, but kept the other in the room anyway. The rail was in perfect condition and was clean from any stains. It was the exact same one we have at home. We're going back in May and will be asking for one as soon as we check in.

Never had a problem getting 2 and have asked for an extra sheet to hand over them to handle any Grossness issues.

I like the idea of the sheet over the rails too. Even if they look clean, it doesn't mean they are. Also I plan to take clorox wipes along. Some baby stuff can get pretty gross! If we rent a stroller, I will be wiping that off too among other things.

We've never used bedrails in a hotel. When our daughter was littler I would sleep with her so I was the barrier on one side. On the other side we just put a couple of the chairs there and then put pillows in front of them. It worked just fine. I never bothered with anything at the bottom of the bed.

If you really want them at Disney I would suggest calling the hotel and asking them to add it to your room request. You have a better chance of getting something if you've requested it ahead of time although it's not guaranteed.

Whenever we are away we always tuck in some extra pillow on each side of the bed between the matress and the fitted sheet, like a homemade bed rail, it has always worked for us (no kids falling)
