Can anyone tell me what the DVC units have for the child under 3 to sleep in. We have our grandson with us and we were going to buy an air matress but wondering what Disney offers

All DVC units have a pack n play in the closet. Sofa sleeper in the living room. Sleeper chairs are in 1 bedrooms at BLT, AKV and OKW. I have seen that people have had actual cribs delivered to their rooms.

If it is just one grandson with you (as a couple) and you share 1 bed, then the grandson could sleep on the pull-out couch bed with its linens.(And with the chair arms and its low height it's fairly safe for a young one.).

But an air mattress might be easier for some than struggling with a pull out bed.

You can ask for a crib if you don't think a pack-n-play will work. I've gotten both on different trips.

When we went last year, DS was 2.5 and not used to sleeping in a pack n play or crib. We were in the THV and used bed rails provided by the resort on the bunk beds, but they would work on any bed. Book ending our trip were two nights at the Hilton Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Bonnet Creek in regular hotel rooms. We bought an inflatable toddler bed on Amazon that works wonderfully if you don't have an actual bed for a toddler. We have used it MANY times now. It comes with a electric pump and has elevated sides. I fits crib size sheets. We love it. It is called "The Shrunks" I believe.

Cribs are not available at all DVC resorts. I believe they may be available if there is a hotel linked to the DVC resort. We were at BLT last year and they get them from The Contemporary but only if their guests do not need them. DS rented one from a company that the front desk recommended.

When we were at AKV with our twin 2 year old grandsons, they slept on the pull out sofa. Bed rails do not work with their pull out sofas. We had a rental car and we purchased the jumbo size pool noodles which we placed under the fitted sheet on each side. Worked great!

We went to THV this past July with my 2.5 year old DD and requested bedrails for the bottom bunk bed. We didn't end up using them but took the mattress off the bunkbed and putting it on the floor of the master bedroom. It worked out perfectly and she felt like it was a special slumber party every night (and I don't think she was crazy about staying in a room by herself in an unfamiliar place)

We have a Shrunk Toddler Bed too. We mainly use it when we are driving to a vacation spot. But we did use two bed rails on our recent stay at Aulani that worked well.

What a great idea!

They really did work great and on our last day we took the noodles to the pool area and gifted them to a family with kids. Loved doing that.

We've been bringing a folding travel toddler bed with us since our daughter was 2 years 7 months old... it's been fantastic. She just turned 4 and still used it on our recent trip to OKW. It comes with a carrying case. We pack her a bag that has her favorite blanket and pillow pet that she loves to sleep on. It folds open in a split second and folds back up just as easily. :thumbsup2
