Bed bugs!!

I always check our room before we bring anything in the room. We have never encountered beg bugs. I am sure there have been as with any hotel. I would definitely require them to switch me hotels and probably comp a night or two or extra fast passes for the waste of time. We have stayed on property atleast 40x with no problems so i wouldnt worry about it too much.

40+ stays in WDW. Never an issue. Can it happen? Sure. With so many people traveling from all over the world, chances for having an issue increase. But, it's just nothing I'm overly concerned with.
If I had a room with bedbugs, I would ask to be moved immediately. I would also ask to have all my clothing washed and dried by Disney at settings that are as hot as possible.
A room credit would be nice.

Only "compensation" I've ever heard was a new set of clothes while they send all your stuff to be cleaned if even that. Technically they owe you nothing as it is only their duty to move you rooms.

I've never had a bed bug experience at WDW and I'm super cautious about them since we were hearing about them all the time in NYC for awhile.

Where is this sudden concern springing from? According to your signature you have over 20 trips to WDW under your belt. Since bedbugs in hotels are scarcely a new phenomenon, I'm puzzled as to the sudden question about compensation for something you haven't had a problem with in the past.

Looks like they are on a trip right now. Maybe the OP thinks they are experience bed bugs during their current stay.

Just know Disney will confirm it is bed bugs and not simply mosquitoes that caused any bites you may be experiencing.

15 trips to WDW and never any bed bugs! I check everywhere we stay. Don't want to bring any home.

No, never had them at any hotel, but I've read they do pop up at Disney resorts. Hey, bugs gotta have FD, too... ;)

Seriously, if you think you have bed bugs, go to the front desk and speak to the manager. Should they find evidence of infestation, I'm sure they will compensate you accordingly. I would expect them to do the same, gag.

If you are having what looks like bites, make sure it is not the weird pavement heat rash many people get at the parks during the summer months. If the rash (I'm guessing you have something as you have asked) is mostly on your legs, that is probably what it is. If it does turn out to be bedbugs Disney will take good care of you. Unfortunately you wouldn't be the first guest to have them.

It is a legit question, however the title is inflammatory. I think people would be reacting differently if it said "Ever experience bed bugs" or "What if I experience bed bugs".

How is Bed Bugs!! an inflammatory title to a thread? Was the thread title edited from something else?

SOOO that's what i get! Looks like bites or a red blotchy rash above my ankles. I could not figure out what it was.

Folks, it's a legitimate question, about a common concern of travelers. Thread topics don't have to be only sunshine and pixie dust.

Agreed that doesn't need to be sunshine, but since the OP doesn't say, Hey I think we may have bed bugs or that we do, the title seem with exclamation point doesn't fit the question. I will say that I'm sure with 30,000 guest rooms it does happen.

I have read other threads (here or elsewhere, I don't recall) in the past where it was quickly remedied and the impacted guests were taken care of. Hopefully I never have to deal with, but if I do I would hope it is at WDW because I feel confident that it would be addressed promptly, vs. a roadside hotel.

OP here and it's not a negative post or scam. I'm 65 years old and never tried to get Dis to pay for anything in all my 33 trips! I woke up at POFQ at around 5:30 am with a lot of itching. I had about 10 bites. My DD and I pulled back the covers and we caught the tiny little bugger in a cup and put him in a little plastic baggy that he happily crawled around in. Then we took him to the front desk. The manager was so nice and could see all the bites on me. He was wonderful . Gave us money to go to Wal-Mart to get my DGD, DD and myself some new clothes. They had to escort us back up to our room to get stuff we needed for the day, but anything that was fabric had to be collected by them and taken to be disinfected, luggage included. We did get a new room that management checked out.I was so upset that we had to take time out and get a taxi to go shopping at Wal-Mart on our MK day. He did reimburse us for our one night. So I usually do check the beds when we check in, but with our plane getting rerouted because of storms, we got in late and I never checked the bed . Never make that mistake again! And thank you to the posters that had a little compassion to think that I would not make something like this up and try to scam Disney. I'm an honest person and would never think of doing that. I was just wondering if anyone had a problem and how it was handled. Michael, the manager was great. Oh, he said it happens about once a month.
