becoming wireless

I currently am tethered to my wall with DSL. What do I need to become wireless? I have a new laptop so I obviously don't need a wireless card but what kind of router do I need? Do I just plug it in like my modem? What are the differences? I know I want an N but what does that mean? Help me....

Call your DSL company and tell them you now have a laptop. They will either walk you through setting up the connection on your laptop if you have wireless capable modem or come out and install one for you if you don't.

LOL they told me to just go by a router and set it up. I asked which brands he recommends and he just said Linksys. SP?
But I was surfing the web this morning and the types and models are astounding and confusing at the same time....

OK, nevermind then . Our modem from our DSL company is also a router so that is what they did for us. One of the techies will pop in shortly to help you .

ALmost any router will give you wireless capabilities. My phone (internet)company gave me one at no cost. I can make you a good deal on a barely used Linksys!
