Becoming Lean, Mean, Endurace Event Machines in 2008

Cast Iron users:

Did you catch on Food Network, Alton Brown's dutch oven desserts, how to cook during a power outage?

Then on Unwrapped, they showed how cast iron skillets, dutch ovens, and griddles were made by Logic. Very cool episode. :thumbsup2

Good morning Meaners!

Jeff, dang it, I missed those episodes. Funny how timely this all was!

:welcome: Keenho! With or without weight loss, you are welcome here! But how great that you have lost weight!!! Congratulations! - Btw, the original definition of "mean" is stingy or selfish. I feel that we all need to be stingy and selfish when it comes to taking care of ourselves! We need to make our personal health something we do everyday, selfishly; for ourselves and our families! Be mean, it's good for everyone! :rotfl: :cool1:

Stacie - Thanks for the kind words about my pace. A year ago, I was traveling at 16 min. during TOT. I was still trying to learn racewalking. I can't believe that I have come this far in so short a time! -- I wish I were going to marathon weekend, but alas, I am not. (I just love the word, alas!) I am hopeful of making it in 2010.

Debra - Me, a miracle worker??? :lmao: -- Isn't it funny how statements that are oxymoronish make sense?? Hope everything went smoothly and the way you want with the IL's!! Good job on the workout!

Where is everybody else???

From the Great Plains atop the Cap Rock - I made 4 miles on my bicycle, yesterday and I had no hip problems!!! I hate Pilates, but they sure do help. I also got my truck back, finally. Made the last payment on it, just last month, so I guess it's only fair that I had to make the first reapair payment this month! $891.

I am off to do an easy 2 miles and plan my gym! I am decorationg my home gym. It needs help, currently it is located in the garage, but the garage will soon be part of the house. I am thinking cool colors, nifty sayings and workout charts!

HEY, HEY, HEY,

I resemble that remark. :drinking1

Shout out to Wendy, Mel, Tigger Jeff, Amybeth, Scojo Scott, Cruella de Mom, Lisa. Where'd you all go? It's been a while since we heard from y'all. Hope everything is well with you.

I have been working, walking, and wife-ing. I can't use the PC at work for fun stuff -- I work in the financial industry, complete with spyware and email monitoring -- and I can't afford my Disney habit if I'm jobless! I find I have a lot less reading time than I used to -- and it seems pretty selfish to post when I am not taking the time to read everyone else's posts. On the nutrition front, I have recorded every bite for two weeks now and still find my weight seems to vary wildly -- sometimes 4-5 pounds per day. I am trying to keep sodium below 2500 mg, which is tough for an on-the-go quick-meal Mom like me -- but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. I have a specific weight goal for Disneyland and I've told all my co-workers -- so the threat of public humiliation is keeping me in line. :rotfl: We're planning a group lunch for August 27 at which I'll reveal whether I made my goal or not. It's turned into a great team project.

I am hoping to get by Jamba Juice (sp?) over the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend so I can see folks in person. I love to see that sea of lime green! I have a couple of other resevations to make, then all the plans for my family should be nailed down. Marathon weekend is still virtually unplanned -- I need to make some ADRs for that trip as well, I suppose.

I miss you guys. Looking forward to our next meets.

Hey Lean Meaners..

Finally winding down from a crazy morning. DD woke up with a 104 degree fever:scared1: :scared1: so I had to get her to the Dr. And our furbaby picked up Kennel cough and had to go to the vet. Luckily DH was able to take her to the vet. I took DD to the Dr. and because her fever had been so high, they took a fingerstick CBC which showed a sky high white blood count, so that led to them taking more blood and a urine cath. They think she has a UTI. She got an antibiotic shot and has to go back tomorrow.

I did get pilates in last night. I am really liking it. I am having trouble coordinating the breathing, movements, etc, but I figure that will get better with practice.

Debra I think SW totally rocks. I have been flying with them for several years. I pretty much exclusively fly with them, unless they don't fly somewhere. Hands down they have the best cancellation/rebooking policy which is the main reason I love to book with them. They still don't charge you for bags ( up to 2 per person) or sodas/juice, etc. Some people have issues with their unassigned seating and boarding arrangement, but I think it is fine. They've made a few changes recently to make it a bit more organized.

Connie You brew beer?Awesome! It is on mine and DH's list of things we want to do. Actually I would love to work at a brewery, maybe get in as a QC microbiologist or something and work up to helping formulate new brews.

Stacie I am doing the 1/2 marathon and maybe the 5K if it is not filled up yet. Can't believe it is less than 6 months away! :scared1: :scared1: It sounds like your 5K went well. I think I saw your race report somewhere :woohoo:

   to everyone!!

I hope to run tonight, I'll have to see how mommy clingy DD is. I hate that she is sick but I love it when she turns into to such a snuggly baby.

Hey Lean Mean Team!

I really didn't fall off of the face of the Earth...Ever have one of those bad work days that segues into traumatic? That was my Monday. I won't go into it, I've mostly recovered. Let's just say not everyone I work with has my greatest respect...

I did 2 miles on the TM yesterday after work, and it was a struggle. I'm really hoping today might be better, but I'm starting to doubt it. I've walked 4 miles going to meetings, and I have to walk another 2 to the subway (ok, I guess I don't really have to, but I'd feel to guilty if I didn't, and I don't really want to get on until I must). This probably means the TM isn't going to happen, heaven only knows when I'll actually get home tonight.

amykab -- Here's wishing DD a speedy recovery! Those high fevers always scared me, between that and the dog I would have been frantic. I hope you are able to take a minute and relax tonight! :grouphug:

Wendy -- I totally should not be Dising at work, yet it seems to happen daily... I try to confine it to breaks, etc. I need a stress reliever, although losing my job due to inappropriate internet usage would definitely increase my stress

Connie -- Your home gym sounds awesome! My workout area also serves as our guest suite (don't get excited, we have an in-law apt. in our basement), so I can't do much. I can't wait to hear how everything turns out! :goodvibes

Howard -- I really hope actual weight loss isn't required for this thread, or I may never get to post again. :lmao: Welcome!

Debra -- I'm here! Paradoxically, when I'm super upset, I cannot write. I've been reading but not typing the last two days. But I missed you guys! :guilty:

Dave -- I see you've found a tv show for Jeanne! I'm sure she'll get lots of tips for her next race ;)

Beth -- So glad to hear your coming my way! Let me know if I can provide any suggestions for your trip to Beantown! :wizard:

Ok, gotta get going on that walk to the subway. Everyone hang in there and keep it Lean!

Maria

Hi Leaners!
Amy...Welcome home! I love vacations, but I also love getting back home and into my own bed. Sorry you're still feeling yucky and I hope your poor little punkin' is feeling better soon, too. I hate it when the kids get sick.
Beth....Three hours of exercise?:worship: you rock!
Connie...Great job on the 12mpm pace. I love the idea of decorating your w/o area. My TM is in the basement and I'm threatening to start posting maps of the Disney route and painting the concrete walls pink. A girl's gotta have her space!:goodvibes
Dave...I've actually seen the naked show while I was on the TM. It wasn't too bad, but it's all women! WTG on the 4 miler with hills.
Deb....Glad you like the "eat right" quote. It goes through my mind.....lots of times in a day. And I've learned that "neon green with too much vitamin B" could be a useful statement as well. I haven't booked my Jan. hotel either. I'm wavering since it's between my DH and my 40th birthdays and is our gift to each other. I'm thinking on splurging for a little more romance! We'll see. Count me in with those who like take-out.
Howard....:welcome: to the dark side. No, not really! Fantastic job on the weight loss---I'm envious! I'm choosing to think of "mean" as being really tight and fit, oh, and sweaty! We seriously seem to be stuck on "sweaty" lately!:lmao:
Vic...Did we miss your :bday:? I hope it was wonderful.
Stacie...I'll be there in Jan. for the 1/2. Great job on your 5k this weekend. Love the pic of your head in the ice towel turban.
Jeff...Thanks, I could've used the power outage cooking when we were out for 6 days last year!:headache: It was yucky.
Wendy...I think it's a great idea to let others know about your weight loss goals. It makes me just a little more accountable.
Maria...I knew you were still out there. It sounds like you're getting good workouts incorporated into your day. Walking 2 miles to the subway definitely counts.
I've got 4 miles on tap for today. It's gonna be on the TM as the humidity is too high for me in the afternoon. I can't go in the morning as we've been leaving at 6:45am to get DS to cross country camp. We have to drive in morning rush hour to get him there and it's a bit of a distance so the other boys and I hang out in that area until he's done at 12. We've been going to the local park R/W on the trails and playing on the playground and then we do a bit of shopping and out to lunch. Needless to say, when we get back at 1, we're all wiped out. It's been a long week, but it's nice to have an excuse just to be with the boys and not "have to" clean the house.
Have a great day all!

Wendy -- I totally should not be Dising at work, yet it seems to happen daily... I try to confine it to breaks, etc. I need a stress reliever, although losing my job due to inappropriate internet usage would definitely increase my stress

Maria (and everyone else) -- I just want to make certain I didn't come across as being critical of anyone here. I did not intend that at all! I was just sharing a (new) fact of my job/life. They are pretty serious about it. As I said, I really miss you guys, which makes me look forward to seeing you in person even more.

And Dave, After seeing the previews several months ago, I actually downloaded some of the "How to Look Good Naked" episodes to my iPod. They really aren't weight loss shows, but more "accepting yourself as you are" shows. Some of the episodes are quite heart-wrenching, as part of the process of the show is having the women look at themselves and talk about what they do and don't like. Most are in tears, because they hate their bodies -- even some guests that I would consider normal weight. I mean -- yeah, it's Oprah-sappy, but I like the sappy ending when the "naked" (not really, they always have a drape) women are projected on the side of a building and passersby are asked if she looks good naked and folks are always taped answering "Yeah! She looks beautiful!" The show reminds me that we should all try to make the best of ourselves on this journey toward fitness. I think I have a tendency to think I'll try to dress better after I get thin. I should really start "practicing" now. After all, I didn't wait until I got thin to start walking marathons.

Good morning Meaners. I am so MIA I cannot even find myself!! I am working out though and eating right. I have gained about 3 pounds since we last chatted but I think that is stress/water weight. I have not been eating badly enough to justify the gain. This weekend is our last softball tourney and then we are in a lull until school starts. Just a little field hockey preseason stuff but not like it has been lately.

Wendy: My mom is always saying she needs to buy new clothes when she loses the weight she gained after losing dad. I try to tell her that she needs to dress the body she has now to its best potential and then downsize as needed. I feel it is always important to look your best so you feel your best. It is what works for me anyway. My DD13 thinks I have too many dressy clothes for someone who works at home but I like to look good in my clothes. Leftover bad habits from a former life I guess!!

Howard: A super big welcome to you. I have been reading your posts on the Philly thread and with all those miles and speed you have worked into, you should be getting leaner (says the girl who is sporting 3 pounds extra). I am working my miles up too but the speed is sporadic. Glad you are here to further inspire us to greatness!

Stacie: I am NOT going in January...:sad1: :guilty: :sad1: I am doing ToT this year though which makes me happy I do not have to go 2 years without seeing some of my peeps. :dance3: The talk about RNR Va Beach and CMM make me very happy too.

Debra: No reservations for October yet...:scared1: My overpreparedness would have killed me by now!! :lmao: How could I start listing 6 months in advance without making my reservations that early??? We are at CBR from 10/24 to 10/28. I am sure I told you that already. Can't wait to meet you and DOOD! I have been VERY busy with softball, DD13 darned thumb injury due to not holding the bat tight enough while bunting (DUH) and DS6 being at day camp for the week and next week. My SIL and BIL are in Italy for 13 days sans kids :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I would go nuts personally. So that is an add-on making sure that the niece and nephew are where they need to be. FIL is having surgery in a week for a compression fx (cementing disk) and on and on. Not to mention that DH has so much wood to truck we NEVER see him anymore. It seems that with the high fuel costs, wood haulers are getting more scarce....lucky me.

All other lean meaners: Well they are watching me at work now. My production has been down. It is mostly due to kidlets but I have to be careful how much posting time I have. How dare they mess with my Dis?  You are all still in my hearts and I do check the posts, I just have to be very careful on when I respond to them. This too shall pass...

From the Great North Woods, I think I basically covered it aside from school clothes shopping with DD13 yesterday and spending too much time in Hollister and A&F. What is up with the super loud music? Am I that old? :confused3 We had a great time shopping. She has hurt her thumb again. Same mechanism of injury. This time however, she is a necessity for the weekend tourney as the catcher is at a soccer tourney and the backup catcher tires easily so being the second backup, need I say more? It is a close to home tourney though so hopefully they do well. It is raining here. I only have 3-4 miles on for today with hills, after my hair appointment (priorities right?) so hoping that it gets done. I rode my bike 12 miles yesterday, ran 5.5 on Tuesday and biked on Monday. There, I think I am caught up on everything!!:rolleyes1

Have the best of days Meaners and I hope all your work issues disappear today (literally would be nice sometimes wouldn't it?) and keep up the good work!!!!! :flower3:

Hey, I just noticed in my siggie line......3 months and 1 day to the ToT race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:  :dance3:

Good morning Meaners. I am so MIA I cannot even find myself!!

Hey there, Lisa! We've missed you. Thought you could use a   ! Have a great day.

Good morning Leaner Meaners!

Lisa - So sorry you are being watched over. I am sure that the watchers will find that you are as wonderful and hard working that we know you are. Congrats on keeping on. Glad you are almost to an easy spot!

Wendy - Didn't take anything amiss. I work from home, no one watches me, since I am a partner and yet the other partner, (DOOC) sometimes feels I use the internet too much. Silly man! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Amy - I brew beer and make fine wines and country wines. Just a little hobby we have in this dry county! Hope the munchkin is doing better!!! Poor baby.

Tracey - Tell us about yourself!!!

From atop the Cap Rock, I have managed to lose all but 1 of the pounds I caught during the "boat incident"! And I did 3 miles yesterday concentrating on hill work. Then I went to the doc! I have been having shoulder problems. Turns out, rotator cuff injury. I had a steroid shot in the shoulder yesterday and now I am taking steroids for the next two weeks. If this doesn't make a significant improvement, off to the surgeon I go. Sure will mess some of my plans.

My gym will be all done in cool Carribbean Ocean greens and blues, I am going to hang some full length mirrors to make it look wider and more spacious. I think that I will use the coordinating blues and greens to make a decorative (meaning no straight lines) criss-crossing lines through the middle of the walls and highlight it with some silver! ....maybe.....:rolleyes1

Hey Meaners! How's it going? Things are beautiful here today......humidy is down, and temps are nice!

Lisa: Glad to hear all is ok! Sorry that the 'big' one is watching over you....if we didn't dis, life just wouldn't be the same! Good luck to dd....sorry to hear about the thumb. You don't know how important the thumb is until an injury sets in......:headache:

Connie: Good job with the pounds!!!! :cool1: Always nice to hear the 'success' stories!

Wendy: We all have to learn to love the body we are in. I am just now 'getting' that I might never get to the ideal body weight. I have to be ok with that! I find so many flaws, it's hard to be 'ok' with it. Just remember how much our bodies do for us......it's a miracle what it can do.

WWdave: How are you doing??? ((((using the sly stallone voice))))) How is your pretty princess???

Wagon Tip of the Day: Portion control. When you buy a big bag of a healthy snack, try portioning them out into ziploc bags to single servings. It's so much easier for me to stop eating when the bag is empty......and if it's still in the original big bag, I am doomed!!!! :confused3 "What do you mean that I ate the WHOLE bag." When it's pre-portioned (like a 100 calorie pack) it's easier for me to stop eating! It's more expensive to buy the smaller packs, but I use the same idea and do it myself! :cool1:

Beth

Aloha Jeff: Admit it--you just should have a beer smilie in your siggy! I'd laugh with great appreciation every time I see it.

Howard: OMG! That weight loss is so incredible! :woohoo: No, I can't imagine you as mean (except in Connie's version) or anything other than sweet. Of course, in your case, the sweetness isn't fattening. (Me, I even think sweet and it's two pounds...) And you get superhero points for your increased endurance!

Stacie: It looks like I might owe you that margarita the night after the 1/2 or after the marathon. Unless I can find a way to sneak a margarita onto the course near the 1/2 waterstops #2/#9!!! Having a few on the course might affect your time, though. :lmao: We're thinking of going down for a week+, (Saturday-Monday) so it might be Pop for us. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

Connie: Love oxymorons. Just my kind of logic! I'm glad you got your truck back, but think it would have been a much better reunion without the repair bill. Same with the doctor's appt.--always better without the bad news. Great job with the weight loss--you and Howard are doing the Lean Meaners proud! Pooh, I didn't realize we wouldn't be seeing you until 2010. :sad2: Alas! I guess you'll just have to make your home gym as Disney as exciting as possible to help get you through! I love the colors, ala the CBR. Oh, and maybe you could spend your time between now and the next Disney event you're registered for concocting a WISH beer.

Wendy: Wife-ing! :thumbsup2 Very cool word. It's also very cool to hear from you, even if all you have time for is keeping us up-to-date on your life. That is, so long as you can do so without endangering the Disney-trip fundraiser that is your employment. I'm lucky in that I only have that issue seasonally. I look forward to your August, DL weight-goal reveal. I'm sure you'll have a great time with your team. And I expect to hear that you'v e been loving that naked body of yours, or practicing doing so. (Gee, that sounds strange out of context of the TV show, doesn't it. :rolleyes1 )

AmyK: Bit  to your poor, sick little ones. I hope both your DD and your furbaby recover quickly. Good job with the Pilates--the breathing correctly and naturally comes over time, at least in my experience. In the beginning, it was too much to focus on. Thanks for your p.o.v. on SW. I like them too, much better than United or NW, which were my two options when I lived in Fargo. I don't mind the seating issues, but I don't have kids I want to sit by. Heck, I don't even feel the need to sit too close to DOOD. (He's an armrest hog, but don't tell him I said so.)

Maria: I'm so sorry to hear about your Monday. I hope your coworkers (note I didn't say colleagues, as that varies from person to person) haven't made your job harder. I miss your witty posts, but know what you mean about being upset and writing. It sounds like you're having some demands on your time professionally that's interfering with a routine, both physical and mental  I'm proud of you for making sure your work days are so active with your meetings and subway stops. That's a lot of distance!

Tracey: Your days your days sound both really cool--and really hot. Any reason not to do housework in the summer, I say. And that you're creating such great memories with DSs...all the better. Impressed that you have any energy for a run left, too. Not that you asked my opinion about January, but SPLURGE! 40th birthdays + romance + marathon weekend = once in a lifetime trip.

Lisa: Great to hear from you, even if it's on the down-low. You, Wendy, Maria--all under DIS restriction at work? That makes me snarky on all your behalfs. Sorry to hear about the stress weight gain, even sorrier to hear about DD's injury and FIL's surgery. I'm confident all physical things will resolve themselves and hopefully soon and without complications. It sounds like your running and biking is going well--have you recovered from your, er, "sensitive area" biking injury. :scared: Oh, regarding Hollister and A&F music. I don't think you're old--I think you have "selective" hearing when it comes to music! :lmao:

Beth: And portioning out big packages into single servings helps you learn what a serving really is! :thumbsup2 I have such a hard time with that--my eye is easily fooled--or run entirely by my taste buds. :confused3

As for me: I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one whose Disney event plans aren't all tied up. It kind of stresses me out, but we're kind of in limbo with things. I found out that my position teaching film this fall has yet to receive final funding & approval from administration, and I won't know until mid-August. Frak, frak, frak. DOOD's promotion calendar is out-of-whack, and his union is threatening to file grievances with his administration for working conditions. And my ILs are now up-in-the-air about going to Disney except for the marathon. They've no longer sure about volunteering for the 1/2, either. :confused3 Too early in the a.m., I think.

On the upside, DOOD and I are volunteering to serve waterstops at the 1/2 (see post to Stacie), with Dave, Erica, Jeanna, John, and Lynne. (Did I miss anyone?) :yay: Today was Pilates/stretching. Tomorrow is biking and XT. Saturday is the start of Mickey '09 training! (Only 5 miles LR. But starting my program will give me an extra-long training period, and it means my weekend runs will fall right for ToT.)

And tonight, we're going to see Annie Get Your Gun. Our local theater critic loved this production, I love the music, and heck, it's an evening out with the DOODster. I love musicals and, unlike movie musicals, I don't feel the need for popcorn while watching one. Isn't that odd? Oh, btw, I did see Mamma Mia--glad to see they snuck "Take a Chance on Me" into the repertoire. Poor Pierce Brosnan; I'm glad to see him stretch himself as a performer, but really???

I brew beer and make fine wines and country wines.

Connie, could you work on a WISH Runner's Ale, and a WISH Finish Line Champagne, strictly for post race celebration spray showers that the champions usually get? :rolleyes1

Deb, what flavors do you recommend?

Thanks for the great welcome...

OK --- I'll be mean with all of you. You talked me into it. :lmao:

I'll be posting significant updates to my weight and training as we go along.

I'm proud to be aboard.

Thanks again!

:grouphug:

Howard

Just popping in to say "hi"! I'm so sorry, people, I can't keep up anymore.
I try......really I do. When is that "naked" show on? It sounds pretty interesting! (Can I keep on my Mickey ears for the "au natural" photo?)

Aloha, Lean Meaners!

Sigh. Ok, so today was also fairly very very not nice. I can't whine too much -- no matter how bad my days get, they're nothing like what Vic is going through. :grouphug: to you, I can't even imagine how hard it is for you to go to work...

No workout today, just basically a bag of consolation cheetos. Yes, I know that was so wrong. I am getting very discouraged. I wish I could take a mental health day, but the heat is on and I have to tough it out until at least Aug. 15th, when I hope to be breathing again.

I know this sounds crazy -- I am so mentally drained, I feel like if all my meals and workouts were written out I could just follow them, but I can't seem to get to that point. I can't even care enough to do more than feel really really bad about my lack of effort. I realize this is not good. I work, I sleep, I eat. Occasionally I post...

For those of you that have success -- what is the single most important factor? I think if I could just make myself do one thing, I could get there. Three or five seems to be too much for my small brain to handle at once...

Now that I've had my Dr. Phil moment...

Howard -- I am not usually this morose, I promise! And you are an inspiration with all that weight loss! :thumbsup2

Jeff -- I am so impressed you are a Girl Scout leader! I've been a member for 34 years, I'm a lifer. I also used to work for a Council. You are the kind of father little girls are very blessed to have! :goodvibes

Debra -- I have colleagues, co-workers, and as I believe Stacie would say, co-irkers. My boss is on vacation and someone above her is making my work environment less than a joy to be in. Unfortunately, I have to work with and create work products for her, and it's a shame. It's a shame because I had a ton of respect for her, and considered her a role model. Now I just consider her less than Disneylike. In addition to overly stressed, I'm disillusioned. You'd think I'd be old enough to know better....:confused3 I expect extra loud cheering as I go through your water stop during the Half! :yay:

Beth -- Very timely tip, if only I had read it and paid attention before the Big Cheeto Incident. I don't know why I have to be reminded of things I should know, but thank you for helping us all along! :flower3:

Connie -- The gym sounds so refreshing, I would never want to leave. Great strategy! :)

Lisa -- Just Dis when you can, we of course understand! I bet you are one sharp lookin' mama in your dress clothes! There's nothing wrong with that, we should all dress for a first impression every day. I say that sitting here in sweat pants and a cami, nails unpolished, hair pulled back, and definitely not ready to face anything but bed. But tomorrow is another day! :upsidedow

Wendy -- I didn't take your post as critical at all. I am not watched at work (they've blocked all the sites they're really worried about, like 365live...), but I know I Dis more than I should. I'm just glad you can catch up sometimes, because you always have great words of wisdom, and the kick in the pants I often need :rolleyes1

Stacie -- I will indeed be present and accounted for in January for the Half with dh. We are actually coming in Thursday and staying until the following Wednesday. This is what is passing for a 15th anniversary trip for us, so I wanted to have time to really relax after the Half. DS thinks it's a vacation to have my dad and his wife in charge of him for a week, so it's good all around.

Tracey -- I am envying you right now. I would love to be having your summer. It's that green grass you have! Seriously, I know you've been through a stressful time, and it must be so nice to have dh settled and be able to enjoy your sons. I hope the inner peace is washing off of you in waves!

Dave, Bill, amybeth, Jeanne, Nancy, and Others Who Aspire to Lean Meanness -- Have a great evening, and a Lean Mean Day!

Goodnight and Good Luck!
Maria

Good Evening Everyone! Thanks for all the get well wishes for Delena and the furbaby. DD went to the doctor again today for another antibiotic shot. Still waiting on test results to rule in/out the UTI. She is in good spirits, but still running a 102-103 fever off and on, so no daycare again tomorrow. I  paying for a full week of daycare when she is only there one day! Back to the Dr. again tomorrow to hopefully get some results.

I am another one with no ressies/plans for TOT. I am holding off for FL resident rates. NO idea of where I want to stay. I am a planner too, so this is unusual.

Speaking of plans I just started working on another excel sheet to map out my training through the 1/2. I will finish C25K right before our beach trip to the outer banks, enjoy a week of beach running and then start 16 weeks of 1/2 training when I get back. I also did c25K tonight. I had almost talked myself out of doing it, but I got on there and was surprised that I felt really good. It's been a 2 week hiatus, but it went well. As much as I felt lazy, maybe I needed the break. Week 3 is set to begin on Monday.

I have TONS of coirkers. I consider most of the people I work with to be irkers. we're in a crunch time now and that seems to bring out the worst in people. But on the plus side, I do have a few people there that I have become close friends with outside of work so that sort of balances out the irkers. I am lucky enough to get to go into work tomorrow on my friday off with all my coirkers! I can't wait! Luckily I am only going to be there for a half day.

Have a good evening everyone! :)

Training report (duplicated from the weekly thread).

Yea, I made up for Tuesday's stonker run.

5 miles at 8:30 pace, and 3 1/2 miles between 8:40 to 9 minute pace. After chasing Guru Les and Speedy Tim today, I let them loose at mile 5, and trailed them back to our starting point. Total 8 1/2 miles of pure sweating.

Have a great Aloha Friday everyone.
