I'm back!!! So... the Doc appt. Hmmm, it was OK. I'm not loving the doctor. He was not very personal at all. He didn't listen well and he jumped on me about my weight. He asked how much I weighed when I was 16 and proceeded to tell me that I need to lose weight...duh. I know that. I told him "well, 188 is better than 206. I was there a few months ago." I understand this gatroinerologist is into nustrition and how it affects his area of study, but I didn't come to him for his opinions on my weight. I don't mean to be ugly, but geez. He asked what I do other than work and told him I try to excercise, that I have done 4, 5Ks and a 15K and I going to do a 1/2 Marathon in January. Do you know what he said??? He told me I should forget about it. I should not run it because I am too large and it is bad on my knees. I should go to this gym here and have them do a Heart rate/Oxgen test and work up to walking 15, 20...min. I told him had no plans to RUN the 1/2 Marathon but I was going break it up with walking and running. He said walking is fine, but I should not run. It made me MAD!!!
I will do what I please. I have been to the Ortho and am going to Physical Therapy to take care of any knee issues I have. I am working towards to losing weight. I do not need this to be his focus. He told me not to eat so much and not snack and lay off the sweets. It was very frustation. He does not know my history. I felt like I had to fight to talk and even express my issues and how my sister has some of the same ones. He barely even looked at the other test results and turned his nose up to them. He said Blood test is the only accurate one, not the Stool test. Susan said I should pretty much expect that reaction to the test. You would have thought he would have been a little more open-minded though.
Regardless of his personality and lack of people skills, he ordered blood test for my thyroid, celiac, genetic to test for celiac, liver function and hmm...I think that's is. I think one of those will also check for vitamin deficiency (the liver?) I am also going next week for an endoscopy next Wednesday. I should hopefully have the results next week except for the Celiac test. It has to go to California and can take 10 days.
I don't care for this doctor at all, but as long as he can look at the blood work and tell his professional opinion regarding the gluten then that's all that matters in the end.
So...there you have it.

on the blender story!
It's only recently that I've been allowed to play with sharp instruments. Something about my childhood fantasy of wanting to be a knife-thrower tends to cause concern...
But a big boo, hiss, grrrr
I'm glad DH's interview went well, and here's hoping for positive news within the week. As for your Pilates tape, I think you should be able to do it without the mat until you get a chance to buy one. Just use a beach towel or blanket if you have any back issues like I have.
I've seen the light, I've seen it. I'm walking towards it, it's like a tunnel of light...um, wait. Wrong light. But I'm working on a general lightness of being, with a little help from my friends. And WOW! It's got to be so cool to see the Bodybugg track the change in your calorie burn--what motivation. I'm glad you can also see the difference, which is more motivation yet.
And you've started your October Marathon training; even if you're faking it now, I'm sure you'll feel it soon.

I hope your day continues on perfectly.
to the Lean Meaner nation.
. Today is a bike ride, groceries, kidlet camps, softball scrimmage, garden, and laundry.
Hence, the abbreviated posting.
Great news on your weight and blood pressure!!! Awesome!
So that may completely mess up the formula, but for it's worth, I did it 40 times. It was a machine and I did it at a steady pace. Again, I probably could have gone a few more was getting pretty exhausted. If I need to go back and do 180lbs instead, just let me know and next time I'm there, I'll see what happens. I am a little sore today.
Lesson learned...Do not go from eating lunch at 1pm to eating dinner at 9pm. I still don't feel great today. I'm super tired and feeling pretty weak.
No, absolutely no pictures of me tubing. At one point my DS8 lost his shorts down to his knees.
I'm with you on loving the tomato salad with a little basil added in and I love cucumber salad. Yum.
I hope you are having a great week.
about the time needed to be spent with the co-workers. There is always something better to do, I know. Staff meetings can just be a b---- session, and accomplish nothing. But, I guess we all have to serve our time!
