Beco 4th Gen or Butterfly?

We are looking to get DH a new carrier for DD (6 months), as she will soon be outgrowing the Baby Bjorn he normally uses. After trying out several backpack carriers, I can't find one that I like. We are thinking about getting him his own sling (I use a Zolowear ring sling that I ADORE), or possibly getting a Beco. But which one? I also haven't been able to find a place to actually try them (we are in Orlando), but they look great (in fact if I had known about them before I would have gotten one instead of a Bjorn).

What is the difference between the 4th gen and the butterfly, and which would you recommend?

from what i'm reading the butterfly has been recalled and not being sold right now?

honestly since they are all made about the same (along with the ergo) and about the same price I would just go with what ever fabric is the one you like the best LOL

Yep, that's what I read. I'm not looking to buy for a couple more months, but if the butterfly is still not available then, I'll go with the 4th gen.

I was under the assumption that they've fixed the problem with the butterfly ?? I could be mistaken. I know many that swear by the 4th gen. I almost bought one myself. I ended up getting an Olives and Applesauce one, but it's pretty similar. I am just picky on fabrics. Good luck finding one, i don't think you can go wrong with a Beco !

I have a 4th Gen Beco and love it. We used ours at Disney when my son was 15 months. He will be 2 1/2 in October when we go again and I am certainly planning on bringing it with us. It is so nice when they don't want to be put down and you need to keep going! Very comfortable!

If it's going to be a few months, I would get the 4th generation instead of the butterfly. We LOVE ours.
