Site Visit
We were running a bit late because I had to drag Jeff out of bed since he had only gotten off work at 3am and our site visit was at 9am.
We arrived at the Grand Flo convention center and met Diane. She took us into the Key West room where they had a bunch of items from Francks set up. My mom noticed that one of the cakes looked like the one from the TV special we had just watched, that's because it was the same cake lol
Here's a pic of it from the cake thread:
So we sat down and Diane gave us tons of info. We talked for about an hour and a half before we left to go check out the sites. She took tons of notes.
We discussed having a dessert party and what times would work for that and the reception.
One thing that was good to know is she said we can't bring our own centerpieces to the Living Seas as there is no one to set them up so we have to get our centerpieces through Disney Floral. Which is fine cause I kinda want some glowing gel filled cylinders lol.
I felt pretty overwhelmed by all the info and that's after reading the Dis for over a year! I don't know how people survive without the Dis. I guess we are kinda leaping pretty fast into the process so that's why we are getting probably a lot more info at once than those brides that book at a year out. I mean my inbox is filled with e-mails from Diane. Tons of dinner and lunch menus, photography info, website info, room block, planning session. Ugh! I haven't even really looked at the stuff she sent yesterday yet on the planning session. lol
Ok so after lots and lots of questions and my mom getting totally hung up on the best way to deal with alcohol we finally hopped in a car and headed to the Boardwalk.
Once we got there we were both really excited. Neither of us had ever seen the Croquet Lawn before! Here are some pics again only bigger:
This is one of my favorite things about the location. The water is right next us which is soo pretty and then the swan is on the other side of the water and the dolphin is what you can see in the pic and will be sorta behind us during the ceremony. I have a degree in architecture so it's really nice to have a building designed by a famous architect in view during our wedding.
Then here is what will be our altar I guess:
I can't wait to see what Floral can come up with to decorate the space!
After the Croquet Lawn we headed over to the Yacht Club to check out the gazebo. I didn't even take any pics. We didn't like how closed in it was. All you can see is the hotel when you face the gazebo. Not for us.
From there we went to the Wedding Pavilion because I had never seen the inside. It was actually really pretty. I didn't realize how open it is. The walls are all glass and that view of the castle through the window really is quite amazing.
My mom was trying to get it as our rain location
After the Site Visit we had my dress fitting and you've seen the pics so I wont go into that again.
We have sent Diane all the info she needs to draw up the Letter of Agreement including the room block. That thing is mega confusing and since she said it really doesn't matter we just picked three resorts and blocked out 2 nights at each lol.
She e-mailed us about of Planning Session. My parents are coming down at the end of the month so we wanted to do it on the 24th so my mom can go again. Jeff's parents are trying to come down too so hopefully it will be me and Jeff and our moms and we will send the dads off to play golf or something. Diane said that the planner who is available for our wedding is not available for the 24th so we will have someone else. If they take half as many notes as Diane did then I think we are fine
So that is where we are at now. Jeff is so excited he wants to join in the fun here so in a few days I am going to take down my dress pics and subject you guys to him. Just remember, you knew me first, even if you like him better
