I have started the Beach diet. I did do the Atkins and lost 18 pounds in 2 months. Felt Great! Wrecked my knee and gained it back. Cannot stand tight pants anymore!! Hate not being able to breathe when I tie my shoes. Used to be very athletic and a runner. Just starting to cut carbs and drink the water. 3 days down and 4 pounds gone. I'm hanging on. I love to read the wish posts. Everyone has a comment I either identify with or want to try. I know I will make it to goal of 160 from 214. I really want to be there before summer is over, but I will take it easy and make it work one day and one step at a time. Thanks in advance for encouragement. I already feel better knowing someone out there is reading my babblings.

Bsoup

Holw do you get the no cheaating clippie added to your posts?

hey bsoup, welcome to journaling! that's a great goal you've set for yourself, but good for you for knowing to take it slowly ::yes::

as for adding the cheat free clippie, i think it's in the same thread as the "wish member" clippie you already have. so go check out that thread for the info. add it to your sig the same way you added the other one. then, for each day you're cheat free, you just change the number at the end of the url. simple as that :)

good luck on your journey! and be sure to come by often and visit your journal :)

I was looking at the counter and we will be at WDW at the same time. We are going to Universal for days 1-2-3 then to WDW 3-4-5- then on the cruise. Should be a blast. Am trying to keep it a secret and surprise the whole fam at xmas. Might be able to. Haven't committed any $$$ yet except for guide books, etc. When the tax return comes I will book the cruise first. Everything else will follow.

Thanks for the tip!!

Beckie, welcome to the WISH Journal board! Best of luck with life "on the beach" - there are some real experts around here on SBD!

There are a bunch of us WISHers registered for the Disney half-marathon on January 9th 2005. Is that when you'll be at WDW? We'll be pretty exhausted after the race on that Sunday but if you're going to be around on Friday or Saturday, maybe we'll get a chance to meet!

We are fklying in on the 1st, doing Universal for 2 days, WDW for 3 days, Disney Cruising from 6th-9th and flying back home exhausted or relaxed, we'll have to see. Good luck on your marathon. I this trip is as good as I expect, maybe I'll book the next year to take advantage of the Marathon. I'm setting a goal to run in a couple of 5 and 10 Ks this summer and fall. Would like to run a marathon before I'm 50. (4.5 years away). Good luck to you !! I'm still down 4 #s. Right now, my family is completing our basement. We moved into our new home in Nov. My 2 girls would love tobe in their rooms soon. They don't know what I'm planning for them and when we went to pick out paint , they both chose Disney colors. Can't wait to surprise them at Xmas. Have a fun idea for the trip. I'm going to have t-shirts made that say--Disney or bust on the front and a goal met for each family member onthe back. Mine will read XX # lost!!!,My husband -In quit smoking!!, My 24 son -I willbe an RN in May!!, 16 year old daughter - Straight A student, 14 year old daughter- I passed my driving permit!! They'll think it's pretty funny! I am hanging in on the diet. No weight lost for 2 days but measured and lost 2 inches. I need both ways to determine progress. I'm feeling great and sleepng sound. Tday we paint 1350 square feet before night. Let you know how it goes. Next the doors and carpet!! Thanks for your support I love it.!!

I lost track of how many days I've done this and I'm already at 6. Didn't get any exercise in , but did paint 3 rooms in my basement (1000 sq. ft) Hubby and 2 daughters painted the rest. We're ready to put up the drop ceiling this week and put on all the doors. I have an 8X10 exercise room that I will get to use soon. I discovered the peach ice tea Crystal Lite. It is so good!! I have been so good today. I probably had 5 carabs all day. My weight is hanging on but I have failth it will start dropping again. Have to remember to drink my water. I think I drank the entire 2 qts of ice tea today! I really want to get from a snug 16 to a 14 by the end of March. The weather is warming here and soon will be out walking.
Thanks for listening to my babbling. Your support is priceless.

Hi Beckie - I did not realize you started journalling. Good for you! I'm sure you will love it. There is a lot of support here and having other people cheer you on helps so much! It sounds like you are doing well so far.

You are so sweet to have this nice vacation in the works for your family. I can't make the 2005 marathon either. Maybe we can both set it as a goal for 2006. I hope to be at and maintaining goal weight by then.

I'll check back on you later - take care!

hey beckie, you're doing a really great job sticking to your plan! and it looks like you've been keeping pretty busy too! lots of painting, hope the fumes don't get to you too bad, my mom's been painting a room in our house, and i hate the smell! :crazy2:

those t shirts sound really cute. and what a nice way for you to show all of them how proud of them you are, and of course, proud of yourself too ::yes::

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Wow! If there was a day to blow because of stress , this was it! My 16 year old broke up with her boyfriend of 2 years. She needed my emotional support. I got to school and one of my students who is usually a good kid had a melt down. Took 30 minutes to get him back on track and also needed to cover 4 other kids in the process. My husband called and said our remodeling job just jumped $1500.00. Needed to use my lunch (40min. ) to drive daughter to school. Fairly quiet afternoon. Just a few calls and a regular schedule. After school I went to a Wellness committe meeting and voluteered to help with the end of the year wrap up. It's okay, it will keep me focus on keeping fit(or getting fit-haha). From there I pickup the snacks for the next meeting. I ordered a veggie tray and meat and cheese tray. Last time they brought cookies . Not good for a south beacher. Went meeting to discuss strategies and timelines to work towards a contract settlement or strike.. Sounds like fun. Got home at 7:00pm. Left car running because daughter needed to go to dance. Went to fast food place. Had a diet coke and worked on the paperwork I just created for myself. Got home at 8:45. Hubby says he's hungry! okay, I'm not stressed now. Somehow I madeit through.
Brkst: Vegie quiche
string cheese
nocarb , no cal. energy drink sample(good but expensive)

Snack: string cheese

lunch:
Meat pizza( I ate the toppings and daughter ate the crusts on the way to school'
Diet Vanilla Pepsi (Yummy)

Dinner: meat, cheese, veggies from the trays
water

Not hungrey hopping tomorrow to get the 5# banner. If not , keep at it .
No exercising yet. Litterally can't find the time. Not ever day is like this but I feel great that I made it though without a crash!!

Day 7 and counting!!

Hi Bsoup,

Welcome to the Journals. You seem to be doing well. If you have any questions, ZeraPride is the one to ask. In my book, all that painting counts as exercise. I hope tomorrow is a better day. I hope your DD is ok.

wow, you really had a hectic day yesterday for sure! you did an absolutely wonderful job sticking to your eating plan despite all of it. you could have easily had a melt down yourself, but i'm proud of you for being so strong! good luck with weigh in, hope you get your clippie :bounce:

Down 5 #'s today!! I'll wait until Thurs. to be sure it stays off. Put on a pair of slacks that I bought after xmas because everything was cutting off circulation at my waist. They are rather loose and I think they were tighter 2 weeks ago. Found a recipe for no-carb pizza

Today is calmer!! so far. Hubby is home working on the basement, no committments tonight. Weather is great! +36.

I'm on thd No Foolin around board and set my goals for April 1. Love these boards!! THanks!!

5 pounds already, wow, that is great progress! :bounce: and that pizza recipe sounds like it is wonderful for your plan. i'm so glad your'e not having any cravings, makes it that much easier :). hope you continue doing well :teeth:

Beckie, I'm glad things are calming down for you! You sure had a heck of a day on Monday! Congrats on staying on plan in spite of all the things that happened!

I just printed out your pizza recipe - I'll be trying it soon, maybe this weekend! I miss pizza! ::yes::

Congrats on losing 5 pounds and on those clothes that are getting loose! Can't wait to see that new clippie in your signature - will save the big celebration until then! ::yes:: It's funny how motivated we get about clipart around here. :p I'm the same way!

Hope today is filled with :sunny: and you find some time to kick back and relax, even if it's just for a few minutes!

I"m in the no foolin around challenge for 15# total by 4/1 . I have 4 gone and 11 to go. I was hoping today would be the solid 5 clippie day but the scale did not move. I did check measurements and "Wala", I have lose 2 inches. I love losing inches better than pounds. I'm not bummed out. And I 'm not going to blow it. I did cheat last night. Worked my regular job til 4:00. Had a meeting untiL 5:00. Went to my night job until 10:00. In bed at 11:00. Had 2 slices of fresh baked banana bread. I'm trying the SB , low carb. 3 of my co workers are doing it , so there is some support there. Not nearly as positve as the WISH boards. Hubby finished the basement bathroom and will start with doors and carpet tomorrow. I stain on Sat. Weather is great!! Today I had a Burger King coiusant (--the coiusant). I threw it out the window and ate the egg. I ate veggies and a little dip, slice cheese for snacks. Lunch was a KFC Chicken breast with the skin and breading peeled off (and tossed). I had a hard boild egg for late afternoon. Coleslaw and a chicken breast for dinner. Hanging in there. Each day is closer to the goal. 11more #gone by April 1st and the rest (40 more ) by Sept. . Inch by inch, # by#!!!!:sunny: :sunny:

do you check the scale every day? i think that's what i'm gathering from your posts. just wanted to tell you to not get discouraged if it goes up one day or another. our weights fluctuate throughout the week, so to get a "true" reading, most of us try to just weigh once a week. but it looks like you're doing ok with a maintain today, and focusing more on inches. that's definitely a good strategy! i know for me, it's definitely more about inches than pounds. as long as you're losing somewhere, i see it as a victory :bounce:

you're doing a great job, keep up the great work! have a wonderful day today :sunny:

This clippee seems to have taken a long time to get. But doesn't it look fancy! If getting a little baner keeps me moving down , why question it. Does seem a little silly but I just share this excitement with the Wish ers . No one else gets it. My little secret weapon! I'm doing south beach and loving it. Down 6 pds. today! Took 12 days and i was so good. I'm so glad it finally moved. I did measure and lost 4.5 inches during that time and my pants aren't cutting off circulation now , so alls good! I know it's tough! The toughest is the first week. Just want to go back to those old ways for a taste but once you get through that is smoothes out. Need to get moving. Keep working on the construction project so I'm burning something but need to get organized with the exercise. Hey, snowshoeing burns 1000 cal per hour. Great for Nanok's of the North. Expecting a snowstorm tonight and tommorow. One of the last of the season. Thanks for the support. I try not to weigh in daily but it calls to me. I back it up with measuring. One more bad habit to break. When I'm done I will be SOOO good, no bad habits left, ha-ha!!It's 30 out so that's good. Just thought I'd check in. Been kind of busy and wanted to post when I got my 5# clippee for sure! 1# towards the 10# already!! Cannot tell you how much the support out there helps!! Thanks for the ears.

congrats on the new clippie :bounce: those clippies really are a great motivating tool! whatever keeps you going :). hope you have another great day :sunny:

:Pinkbounc YAY for the CLIPPIE!! :Pinkbounc

Beckie, that clippie is looking wonderful!! Congratulations!!

Glad to hear you're getting more comfortable with SB. Change is hard but soon eating on SB plan will seem like the norm and cheating will seem very odd. Way to go!
