Beckie's Babblings- on the "beach" (comments welcome)

::yes:: ::yes::
I made it to the two week mark and have lost 8 #s and 8 inches. My pants feel a little looser and I feel great ! today I had some string cheese for breakfast and a T of peanut butter. I had 3 pickles for a mid mrning snack . Lunch was spagehetti squash and low carb yougert. For supper I had a grilled chicken breast, spag. squash and salad with ceasar dressing. I feel so much better. I'm amazed that I don't have any heartburn anymore. Still trying to work in a bit of exercise this week. I'm drinking my water and taking clacium pills . I just don't think I get enough in what I'm eating. So fun to plan this vacation and KNOW I will be a size 12 at least by then. I will make it!!

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping3: :jumping3:

Those are the jumps for your pounds and inches. Congratulations. You are doing a great job. Size 12 here she comes.
Beth

Beckie, you're melting!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Your results for the first 2 weeks are amazing! Please don't get discouraged if the loss slows a bit, OK? It's not healthy to lose 4 pounds a week over the long haul and we certainly want you to be healthy!

I'm so happy to hear your heartburn is gone! That's one of the things that helps me stay on plan. I used to have terrible problems with acid reflux and eating low-carb took all that away!

Your menus sound yummy! How do you make spaghetti squash - I've never tried it!

congrats on the 8 pounds and 8 inches gone!!!! :jumping1: that is so wonderful, i'm so happy for you :bounce:

and how great that you just feel overall better! that heartburn going away is sure a nice side effect as well :hyper: . those 12s are going to look fabulous on your vacation! woo hoo!

hope you have another great day :sunny:

I buy it in produce department with the other squash. It looks like a yellow football. The ends are a llitle rounder. It is great ! Cook it in the microwave maybe 3 minutes. Take it out cut it down the center lengthwise and take out the seeds( a little slimey) Put it cut side down on a plate an cook about 5 or so more minutes. It scrapes out of the shell. I put it in a tupperware and have it as a side or a full meal. Just butter, salt and pepper. I haven't tried it with spaghetti sauce but I imagine it would be good and seem almost like pasta. It is an amazing veggie.

Today I ate some weird things because I was pretty rushed:
Brkfst: low carb yougert, string cheese,
snack: sliced cucs and ranch
Lunch: 1/2 cup walnuts, 2 slices of turkey
Snack: Handfull of mixed nuts on my way into a meeting, diet vanilla pepsi
(I know , caffinne no-no but it is delicious)
Papa murphy Pizza-- just the toppings.
sugar free jello /1T lite coolwhip

Drank my water.

Feeling great! I think the pants I'm wearing are looser. I'm at *# and 10 inches. My bras are not cutting me in half anymore!! Everyday is a new day to keep going. I even baked real peanut butter cookies for the fam and didn't eat any. That would have been impossible 3 weeks ago. Something must be right about this plan! Can't tell you how much I love all the support! You guys are great and keep me going. I'm telling others about you and you may see some more "losers" on the boards soon. Have a terific THursday!!!

Marsha 0013 - Not a lot of people know what a zambonni is. I grew up 6 blocks from Canada in Hockey country!! I tell my kids when I get old I want to drive one of the biggggg snowplows. (The state orange ones.) I would do that in the winter and ride motorcycles in the summer. The kids ask me not to tell their friends that. They think I'm crazy. Hope you get to drive the big Z.

Beckie, thanks for the spaghetti squash instructions! Hopefully I'll get to try it this weekend! YUMMY! I'm getting really bored with all my usual veggies so this will be a nice change!

Glad to hear your clothes are fitting better! :sunny:

Fri and Sat. i was so irratiable. I know TOM is onthe way. My weight has stalled and I just feel down. I know it will pass soon but I hate feeling like this for even a day. i just takes the wind out of mysails. I decided to do somemore research on planning a Disney vacation for next Jan. I made me feel a little better. Doesn't help that it is windy ,cloudy and snowy today. Next week is going to be a tough one but I to will pass. Many big meetings and tons of paperwork to finish. I've cheated a bit but when I do , i make sure the next two days a cheat free and haven't seen any weight gain. Felling good about what has happened so far. I need to be sure to get that water in me daily. I just forget and then have a gallon to drink. Start my day with one big glass to get it kicked off.

Yesterday
Brkft - slice of swiss and 2 slices of turkey( I was on the run)
Daughter in a Curling Bonspeil all day - Took 2nd in 2nd event Very proud of her

Lunch _ Ground Round - Triple Fahita (no tortillas) Yummy _2 low carb beer

Supper- 2 slices of ham and a slice of swiss cheese, low carb strwb. yougert

3 bottles of water (60 0z total) pretty good for me.

Need to focus on the water this week and drown the bloat fairy.

Hope the whoosh fairy shows up too.

Beckie,

I hate the Dzone. I hope yours is pretty tame this week. Here's :wizard: to get you through your day.
Beth

Beckie, that d-zone stuff will pass!! Hang in there & ride it out, OK? Just do the best you can and know that easier days are coming! :sunny:

Today is a Monday. I got dressed 3 times. TOM on the way and nothing looks right or fits right. Settled on big jeans. I never wear jeans on Mondays. Eating went okay until tonight. No weight change.

Breakfast : string cheese, handful of nuts, carbcontroled yougert
lunch: small bowl of chili , cucs and dip, string cheese
Supper: subway wrap, diet pop.

3 bottles of water today.

Bag of light popcorn for a snack. Needed some type of carb for the craving.

I guess it could be a lot worse.

Just feel down and I hate that feeling. Can't seem to get excited about anything and don't want to do anything. I'm usually the positive one. At least I'm not really irritable . I just want to sleep right now so I'm off to bed. That usually means I'm hours away from TOM. Tomorrow will be a very long ,stressful day. was hoping TOM would be early. Not a good combination for a big meeting and long day. I'll have to visualize laying on the beach or by a tropical pool next year to get me through.

My husband just brought home 4 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. I dodged buying them but someone caught up to my hubby. Hope the kids eat them all soon. I'm not sure where they are and I'm not looking for them.

Beckie,

 to you. The Dzone roller coaster has quite a line this month. I hope ou can get through today with as little stress as possible. Here's some:sunny: to help you visualize that beach.

Take care of yourself.
Beth

I'm in charge of food so I bring what I can eat.

The day went fine . Hope this meeting is productive.
Won't be home until 9:00.

Drinking a lot of water! Looking for a nother loss this week. Sun is shining and my grey cloud has gone away!

Hang in there , spring is just around the corner .:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :smooth:

Wed. is a good day. My meeting went okay. Made a bit of work for me but I can do it. Heading up a "No Foolin' Around club" We meet once a week. Talk about our goals , any great ideas and progress. only 20 minute meeting so we need to be on target. I'm actually contemplating registering for the half-marathon. I have a co-worker who has run the New York Marathon, so I asked him for some advise. He thinks I shoukd give it a try. Wouldn't that be a great surprise to my family! I need to sleep on it a bit but I'm seriously thinking of it. Must be spring fever.

Today: Bkft-- carb controled yougert, cup of homemade coleslaw
Lunch: sliced turkey and ham, cheese slices and cauliflower
snack: handful of nuts

supper: more coldcuts and veggies

I did break down and had 1 Girl Scout cookie. They are calling to me. Only one so far.

I am doing a body assessment tomorrow so I have a baseline for progress.
Looking forward to warmer weather soon.

Hi Beckie,

I think you should go for it. You'll get lots of support on the boards. Great job eating only one cookie. I can't have them in the house. Thin mints are an addiction for me. Keep up the good work
Beth

Beckie, it sounds like you've turned the corner on the d-zone for this month! You went from sad & blue & feeling out of sorts to sunny and confident enough to consider signing up for a half-marathon!! The d-zone truly is a roller coaster ride!!

I vote for doing the half-marathon! It's a goal that helps you stay focused on your exercise. You can do it!

Warm weather and sunnier days are on their way!! :sunny:

hey beckie, i'm definitely with the other girls...do the half marathon!!! there's a really big bunch of us on here that are signed up to do it, and it's just so exciting to think about it! it really helps to keep on track for exercise, for me at least anyway. i know i have this great goal that i'm working toward, and i absolutely love it :teeth:

hope you have a great day :sunny:

Hope this isn't an unlucky day. Hubby and I are in a spat. Nothing big ,just irratating. I dropped 1 #. Feel good about that. Haven't made the money commitment for the 1/2 marathon yet. I'm starting to do the walking today. Need the exercise. Went to the dentist and Chirop. yesterday. I have a nerve under my right hip that flares up once in a while. Feels better today. Don't really like days out of my usual pattern. Too many cheat chances. Made it through with just 3 girlscout cookies. ate breakfast and dinner. Have to work at 4:00. Just one of those blah days after a fitful nights sleep.
Sunday should be better.

Well, I did go for a walk for 20 minutes at a brisk pace. Had an egg and a sausage patty for brkf. Drank 16 oz. of water. Cleaned both bathrooms and did 2 loads of wash, folded and put away, emptied and filled dishwasher. I know it sounds goofy to list those things , but when I'm feeling blah I need to see I'm accomplishing something. I do feel better after the walk. I need toremember how it feels to be out walking for even 20 min. I'm 1 # from the 10# clippie. Maybe by Tues or Wed. I'm going to try on some of the tighter clothes tommorrow to see if there are some surprises. In 5 #s I'll be at ONE-RLAND!! Haven't seen that since 12 mo. ago. I will do something great for me (not food) when I hit it. Love these boards. So much better than a sweet treat!! Thanks to all! :sunny:

Started posting and got half way through, hit tab by mistake, can't find my writings so I begin again. I stepped on the scale today and jumped off! Stepped back on and Wala!! I was 203. That's 11#s gone! I wll check Mon and Tues., if it stays I'll get the 10# clippee! I'm being totally honest this time on the weight loss merry go round. I haven't been cheat free for more than one day so I haven't changed the number. I need to be totally accountable to me to make this work. My 24 yr old son is coming home for spring break tomorrow. I love to see him! He is the primary reason I'm planning this big trip. I promised him when he was 8 we would go. Between moves and financial downs (no ups), it hasn't been possible but next Jan. it is going to happen. Surprising them (hubby, 2 DD too) for xmas!

Sat. Bkfst: egg and sausage patty, 4 oz of 1% milk
Lunch: sliced cheese and salami, cherry tomatoes and dip.
Supper : 1 cup of Chili, cuc-tomatoe salad, 5 chunks of pineapple
snack (bad) one large spoonful of Cherry Crisp with one spoonful of ice crm
Crystal Lite - Raspberry Ice - 20 oz. / 40 oz. of water

Sun. Bkfst: coffee with non fat 1/2-1/2, 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon
Need to add some water today. Going to lay carpet in basement.
