Bec & Chris - Wishes Wedding 03/01/11 WP/WHR/SCP - Some extra pics and **COMPLETE**

Its like we hit 2011 and all the panic set in!! :confused3

Oh my God! That's exactly it! We have DF's birthday, and I suppose the hen and stag nights, but that's all that's happening between now and when we leave! It's like I've wasted the past 2 years, and I have to squeeze everything into the next couple of weeks!

I've discovered why the Notarys are so expensive. In Australia, a Notary is generally a long serving solicitor, so $200 a form is pretty standard for them. Their job is basically to notarise international forms, it's still pretty stupid though. It's the difference between paying $200 to get these forms signed, plus the $93 for the license, or a cab ride to the court house and the $93 license... :confused3 There's plus and minuses on both sides. I might just let DF decide, and he can organise it

Other then that. I completed my table arrangements :goodvibes I just forgot about it with all this Notary nonsense.

I'm not giving the guests specific seats, I figure they're smart enough to seat themselves, this just tells them what table to sit at.

I had another hair trial last night. This time it was with my hairdresser. I'm really happy with it. There's still a few things I'd like a little differently, but I know it's never going to be recreated exactly.

I'll try not to post too many pics, coz there are a few

OOOOOOOHHHHHH!!! Pretty!! I love the hair, its mainstream and elegant but still very different and creative! I really like it! Your table assignments are great too, you did a really awesome job! I like the idea of DF having to decide and coordinate something (the notary) I may have to employ that technique myself one day..:rotfl:

Love your hair!! :) It is so unique!!

Nicely done with the table frames too! Very elegant!

Great job on the table cards, I think its a good idea to not give specific seats.

The hair looks great, I love some of the details on the sides :goodvibes

I have just finished getting caught up. Congratulations on you upcoming wedding. All your plans look great, you are going to have such a magical time. The coming months are going to be so exciting. Can't wait for more updates.

Thanks everyone :goodvibes

Some small news, we've decided to fly from our home town to Sydney before flying out, this will turn a 5 hour drive into a 1 hour flight. :thumbsup2 There are some pluses and minuses to doing this, but I'm happy enough with the outcome

Love the hair!

That's ridiculous about the notary...we're from Canada, and a Justice of the Peace wouldn't sign ours because it SPECIFICALLY says notary. I had a friend over for dinner the night that the JP called me and was venting about how we don't know a notary....well she pulled out her phone and called her friend who was one! Colour me surprised! The price was right too (free!), but I too would just go to the courthouse if the alternative was $200.00

A few more updates.

I might double up on a few things here... I can't remember what I've already said

All of my BM dresses fit :goodvibes two of them need slight alterations - as in shortening the straps, but that's it. I also received the BM jewellry, which is a gift for them.

I ordered my tiara, it hasn't come yet because I only ordered it last night, but here are the prof. pics of it.

We decided to get our license notarized here, but the first bloke (who was going to be $200) couldn't get us in until the week of Jan 17th. However DF is going away for work, so that won't do. So he got on the phone and spoke to the only other notary in town, and he said that he could fit us in the following afternoon at 3pm. We didn't bother asking price, because we were happy enough with when he could fit us in.

We turned up to the appointment and he took us into a little office and we chatted as he notarised our forms, about everything and nothing - the wedding, the notary seal, laws from different countries, how you could only be a notary while you were still a solicitor, blah blah blah. He was really nice.

Then when we finished he said "just give the receptionist $22.50... No make it $22, just to round it out... Actually, if you don't want a receipt $20 will do..."

:lmao::lmao: Maybe if we'd just kept standing there he would have dropped it further! We were so happy that it wasn't $200 that Chris gave him the $25 that he had in his wallet, and said "That's for fitting us in so quickly"

So today I'm posting away all the forms, the bank draft and our ID, so hopefully we'll get the license back soon, and that will be one more thing taken care of. :woohoo:

On the other side of things DF will pretty much be working away from home right up until the wedding :sad2: so I think I've pretty much got to finalise everything myself  So I have to be super organised!!

Hopefully I've found my seamstress. I'm waiting for her to get back to me to tell me whether she's got the time or not, jeez I hope she's got the time :rotfl:

the hair trial came out great! its so pretty I love it. I also really like the tiara I think it will work well with the hair!

awesome news on the notary! I'm glad it all worked out!

I'm not sure if I posted or not, but your hair looks amazing! It is really intricate and elegant. Your table assignments turned out great too! They look great and I love how you included the names of the guests right with them! Things are really coming along for you!

Here are some of our song selections:

Prelude/seating - Just a selection of classical music

Bridesmaids down the aisle - Canon in D

Me down the aisle - Rainbow Connection (as sung by kermit the frog :lovestruc)

First Dance - Jack Johnson - Angel

Bouquet Toss - Ludacris - Move B*tch (my sister's idea, there's going to be some fighting over the bouquet :lmao:)

Garter Toss - Flight of the Conchords - Business Time

Last Dance - Children Collide - Farewell Rocketship

We still need to decide for signing the registry - which I'm making part of our ceremony, and the recessional. I also don't know if I'm doing a father/daughter dance, so I'll need to pick a song for that if we have one.

lol, we figured it was perfectly sleazy/funny for the garter toss
