Does anyone know if they ever brought back the "Beaver Tails" that were sold in Canada at EPCOT? They were a flat bread with cinnamon and sugar (kind of like Indian Fry Bread). Do you remember them?

They were my DD(21)'s favorite and weren't there the last time we went.

No they have not brought them back. They did have a loyal following, but alas they are gone.

If you like the Beaver Tails visit us up here in Toronto. Our dollar is tanking again so you can get a fantastic deal and buy all the Beaver Tails you can eat.:rotfl2:

Okay-so do tell where these 'elusive Beaver Tails' can be had because I have never-ever seen them let alone had one????? I must be sooo travelling in the wrong circles!:confused3

They used to be available a few years ago at a snack cart at the Canada Pavillion. Sadly I don't think they will ever return.

Yes-but the Poster from Toronto (where I live) says to come up and get them here? But where? I have never laid eyes on them?!?!?!:confused3

You're just going to have to come up to Canada for some :D

Looks like I better go there too and find some!
But where?
Montreal?

I am not from Toronto but I googled it and this is what I found.

Beaver Tails Pastry
955 Lake Shore Boulevard West
Toronto, ON M6K 3B9, Canada

So what is it? Is it like a dough boy???

You'll find one in Old Montreal near the old port. You'll also find them in many Canadian tourist spots, zoos, and Theme parks ( Like 'La Ronde' in Montreal, for example ). One thing to be careful about is that the brand was exapanded into smaller venues like movie theaters and malls, but many times, these are actually frozen and re-toasted and are NOT as good. The full service locations like the ones mentioned above provide a far superior product ( made and fried on-site )

I've gotten them at the Toronto Zoo.

You can find them in the Market in Ottawa.

YUMMMMYYYYY!!

It was my favorite snack, too. I loved them with strawberries on top! I always check each trip to see if they've returned...:sad2:

They are essentially the same fried dough you can get everyone only with a few more creative toppings. Yes, they are like dough boys and elephant ears or even funnel cakes will give you the same effect. I don't think they are anything special and are certainly not a popular Canadian treat.

It's a national chain, albeit a relatively small one.

Sadly, they are still gone. We were there in October and it was one of my husband and my favorite treats.

when we took our first trip to the world--everyone was ranting about the beaver tails in canada-- so we made a point of getting one.

Imagine my surprise and utter disappointment to find that all it was was a glorified Funnel Cake.

Ottawa is the home of the BeaverTail! They can be "had" at outdoor vendors out on the ice during Winterlude in February, when our Rideau Canal opens up to be the world's longest skating rink, and in the Byward Market downtown the rest of the year. Though the cinnamon and sugar ones are tasty, the garlic butter and cheese type are the best!!

If ever you head up to this neck of the woods, you'll have to try one out!
