Do you have any beauty/grooming tips or tricks to share? :)

Everynight, just before I go to bed, I slather my feet with foot cream and put on a pair of those small white ankle socks. Come morning, my feet are soft and smooth.

I've read that you can use eye cream on your lips to plump them up, and smooth out any lines. I've tried it a couple of times, but couldn't really see any difference.

Have you got a tip for us?

BTW - Male grooming tips are welcome, even if they involve beer and duct tape! :)

Before I curl my eyelashes, I heat the eyelash curler a bit with my hairdryer (have to be careful, though, that it doesn't get too hot!). When I do this, my eyelashes curl much easier and it lasts until I wash my face.

I sometimes put yogurt mixed with lemon juice on my face before I go to bed. The friut acid from the lemon and glycolic acid from the yogurt act as an exfoliant.

Occassionally I boil a pot of water, then with a towel over my head I create a little steam bath for my face (not over the stove though, I take it off the heat so it stops boiling and is just steaming). I usually then exfoliate and rinse my face with cool water. Not sure what it does for my beauty  but it sure makes my skin feel great!

Judging by your pic Tamie, I'd say it works! :)

I used to do the heated eyelash curler trick too Kim, not sure why I stopped because it does work! I've never heard of the yogurt and lemon juice idea. :)

Anyone else use cream rinse (in a pinch) to shave their legs?

I keep drinking until DW looks better ;)

I AM KIDDING :jester:

I've got a zillion of 'em - I need all the help I can get. :)

Solid colors on top and bottom, especially black, shave off 10 pounds. :)

Always apply lotion while skin is still damp

Baby wipes are great for taking off makeup and cleaning the face - if they are gentle enough for a baby's butt, they are gentle enough for a woman's face. :)

Raw potatos take black circles away (yes, I have done this, and it works!) Preparation H also works, but I haven't been tempted, yet! :p

Mayonaise makes a great ingrediant for a facial. Just get it right out of the jar, put it on your face, and 20 minutes later your face will be glowing! (another one I've tried!)

If your hair is dry or brittle, mash up an avocado and apply to damp hair. Leave on for 1/2 hour or so, rinse, wa la, your hair will be bouncy and silky again!

:)

Do I eat the potatoes, Snoopy? ;) I've never heard of that trick before.

I know having good posture can help one to look slimmer. Stand straight and tall!! :)

A guy-type grooming tip, "And I just soak my feet in beer & wrap them in duct tape & when I wake up, they're just sticky & stinky"

I'm not sure I would recommend this! :p

ouuu we want a pic of them sexy feet

As long as we're asking Snoopy, Kim, what about eating the avacado & Mayonaise after :p :p ;)

I really didn't want this thread to be stolen, but since you posted my beauty secret here for my feet:rolleyes:  ;)

And you can also use raw potato for getting salt stains off your shoes in the winter (oops, not really a beauty tip Eh?) Never mind:p

Baking soda mixed with my cheapy cleanser. 7 dollar big bottle of phisoderm, a buck in backing soda and my skin is smoooooth and clear for over 6 months :smooth:

I'm not sure how these things will work for other, but they work for me! :p :bounce: Try them at your own risk! :teeth:

After washing your hair, rinse with white vinegar. I do this about once every other month to get all the "stuff" out of my hair. It strips it clean, but boy does it smell! It takes at least 2 shampoos to get the stinky smell out. :o :p I heard the same thing can be done using beer. I wonder if Will will mind giving up one of his Sam Adams' so I can experiment?! :p

After you've finished with your shower, turn off the hot water but leave the cold water on and rinse your body and hair! I swear, my hair shines like anything when I do this regularly! **Caution** not recommended for the cold, dead of winter showers! :p

You can add a tablespoon of sugar to your favorite face soap to make an exfuliant. I've done it before. It worked just fine.

Egg whites make a great pore closing mask. Just wipe raw egg whites all over your face and let them dry, then rinse with warm water. It works. :p :bounce:

For those with darker, uncolored, unpermed hair: when lazying by the pool or working in the garden in the sun, rinse wet hair with the juice of one lemon. Let your hair dry naturally. It brings out the highlights in your hair. I guess the sun and the lemon together bleach your hair?  :p Afterwards you have to wash and deep condition your hair, but it works for me!

I never put lotion on the bottoms of my feet! I want "tough as nails" feet so I can walk on the asphaldt outside without getting them burnt.  :teeth:

I do the eyelash curler heating thing too. I also have an eyelash curler that is battery heated! It doesn't work as well as my metal, heated, cheapie Revlon one does, though. :)

Saffron, use baking soda instead of sugar. Sugar has rough edges.
I use it quite a bit and should use it more. It feels really good as you are scrubbing and afterwards. It does a great job in freshening the drain as well. lol

Snoopy, be careful with the baby wipes. If they have alcohol in them they can dry out your skin.
You'll have to tell me how the potatos work for dark circles. I was born with them and never really get rid of them.

Creme rinse, shampoo, and body wash all works for a shaving cream. You can get a closer shave by shaving in the mornings too.

For different effects, mix lipgloss and lipstick in various ways. If a lipstick is too strong, first use lipgloss. It will make it much more subtle.

These are great tips. :)

I have natural dark circles and I'm going to try the potatoes under my eyes.

I use baby wipes all the time, too, and slather lotion on my face - it works for me.

How about something else for the hair? I am turning gray, but $100 to have my hair streaked at the salons is too much for me -- is there a good tip for this?

I bathe regulary and even shave!

When DW reminds me, I clip my toenails.

That's about as far as most guys go that I know.

Me, too, Alan. Me, too.

Kim, you've met me. Does it look like I have any beauty secrets?

Baby oil is cheap (if you go to the dollar store),it removes make-up like nothing with a few cotton pads.
You may wanna cleanse or wash your face afterwards so you won't be so oily, but it is way cheaper than using other make-up remover products.
I learned this on the Tyra show.
