Beauty & Beast - getting redone or being closed this summer 2012?

They cut out too much over the years there and Little Mermaid. For me they went from good to blah. Sadly, the High School I teach at had a better B&B production.

They should close it and do a Newsies show. It's a recently hot property and a good fit with the era of sunset blvd.

Ugh...no thanks. I liked the movie a lot, but the songs were somewhere between bland and forgettable. Though I guess I have to admit it would be nice to see the show change up once in a while.

How about if they upgraded the effects so that they are slightly above high school production. The whole "having the prince turn into a beast behind a blanket" thing. Really? You charge $85 to get in here? And while they are at it, do the same for the Little Mermaid.

They used to have better effects. Fire, fireworks from the stage and more cast members. They cut the show to pieces just like they cut LMM. Don't they know we all know. Don't you know what on my leg and tell me it's raining.

I'm just going to jump in and say that I doubt it's getting closed this summer as they JUST had auditions for the vocalists and are having dancer auditions in April. To hire a bunch of new performers just to close the show in a few months wouldn't really make sense

PLEASE let them get a new Gaston. Last time I was there he looked like he was ready to retire.

A backstage area for CMs to do what?
Is it the new promotion selection process? Two CMs are chosen from each park to duke it out, winner takes all?

New Costume storage (the current space is horrendously small and the ballgowns have to be hung above the stage as it's the only place they fit), new tech working areas, addition of a couple offices (there's only one, and it's really a closet), larger break space, athletic training area (which is becoming more standard at all Disney backstage location, FOLK's is awesome) and more.

I could see B&B maybe going down a day or two once it's all done in order to move everything... but probably not for very long.

That's what I was going to say. I love Tangled, and I think B&B has been around a little too long. It's time to change it up. I wouldn't say no to a Newsies show, though. Actually, that may fit the theme of the park a little better.

I hope it does not close. We know one of the dancers and are looking forward to seeing her when we are there in October. I am, however, in favor of a Tangled show somewhere!

B&B is such a classic.I would be thoroughly sad to see it go...Tangled was cute but as someone else mentioned, the songs were blah.

Maybe a remake would be best!

I had this idea one I realized that they will proably take out the Princess shows at DHS because both Belle and Ariel would both have homes in the Magic Kingdom.

I thought that The Little Merimaid show should become a Princess and the Frog show and the Beauty and the Beast show should become a Tangled show, even though I'd hate for them to remove such a wonderful show (they can get rid of Ariel's show though).

Speaking of Gaston..... Has anyone noticed that the new fountain in the Fantasy Land Expansion has Gaston holding a keg instead of his 'blunderbuss' ? I'm sure it's to placate the PC crowd.

While my kids absolutely must see this show every time we are there, it would be nice if they could alternate with something else every now and again just for a change..then again, the kids absolutely must do everything everytime that we are there..

Even if I really like that show, I also hope that it will be going soon.

Would be great to have the Toy Story Musical but it would be a strange location with Pixar Place only a few minutes away...
