Beauty and the Beast dvd/bluray

Does anyone know the next date this is expected to be released? My 19yo has decided she needs to upgrade from her VHS.

You could possibly still find it on Amazon. I think it last came out around 2010 - Disney likes to keep their huge movies in the vault for 7 years (to introduce a brand new generation to them, each time one is re-released). I haven't looked at their release schedule lately, but I would think a new edition would release sometime in the next year or two.

It's the 25th anniversary this year so I would think they would come out with a special edition of some kind.

The Beauty and the Beast 5 disc Diamond Edition (Blu-ray 3d; Regular Blu Ray; Regular DVD, and Digital Copy) was released in 2011. That and the 2010 releases (non 3-d) went back in the vault in 2012. Theoretically, unless they decide to do something with the 25th anniversary, it could be in the vault until 2019 as they usually stay in the vault about 7 years. You can probably pick it up a used one on Ebay or Amazon- also check with any local stores you have that still deal in used DVDs. Disney ones can be hard to come by as a lot of people hold them forever (yep- the vault is a pretty smart business move), but they do pop up.
